I'm sure anyone with any interest in the launch would have been watching live, but here it is. The fun starts after 30mins or so.
Things the video didn't cover? Mainly region-specific stuff like mentioning that presales are live, people preordering should get their phones on the 8th of next month and the small matter of the Samsung Upgrade Programme.
I'll be paying for my shiny new S7 Edge in installments over two years and if I get blown away by where they go with the S8, I can upgrade without paying the second year of installments by sending the S7 back to them. 3 wanted £64 a month for an Edge with the amount of data I'm accustomed to, so £27 a month for the phone leaves me with a chunk of money for a SIM only deal.
I've had a gearbest special since my beloved HTC M8 broke back in October, so I'm looking forward to having something decent again. I'm slightly sad to be leaving Team HTC for the foreseeable, but I couldn't ignore what Samsung had to offer!
Has anyone else pushed their way to the front of the queue for one?

Horrible interest rate on the upgrade program though. 14.9% APR. That's almost as bad as a standard credit card. And a year after the S6 launch, ebay seems to show that S6 prices are roughly half the new prices still. So you COULD, in theory at least, get yourself a 0% purchases credit card, buy the phone on that, and pay it back at the same rate (via direct debit, or at £26.63 per month for the S7 Edge to be paid off in 24 months, rather than around that price for the normal S7), and save yourself £100+ in interest payments. And still give yourself the option to upgrade in a years time, if you wish.
I'll consider getting one though. My wife is looking for a new phone anyway, and I could probably do with a wee upgrade, although I do like my Moto X Play actually. The only reason I didn't get the S6 last year was the lack of expandable storage. But I'll be buying it outright on a 0% credit card.

The interest rate is the only drawback to the programme, but it still works out cheaper than a new contract (I'm done with them!) and hopefully my current one by the time I've worked my magic on 3. A mate picked up a S6 Edge a couple of months ago and the screen blew me away. It was the first Sammy I've held that didn't feel like a toy compared to an HTC too. Throw in the IP68 rating and the expandable storage and it felt like the right time to jump ship from HTC. Sent from my X5pro using proboards

I don't hate it, but it doesn't provide the sort of experience I'm used to. The screen isn't the most sensitive I've used, battery life isn't great, the speakers are a bit naff, it's pretty darn uncomfortable to hold for any period of time... But it was £50 and has served its purpose as a stopgap until the first of this year's flagships I fancied. Sent from my X5pro using proboards

New piano (saving for it) or S7 (£639 - that's a lot of donga for a phone) BrenD. I won't even pay £200 for a mobile - never mind that! Must be good I can get two new pianos/keyboards for that price but I want maximum savings by autumn so I can get a really posh piano Piano wins LOL

I have to admit I'm a samsung lover well? android and been using samsung phones for a few years. You should have seen the uproar from my friends when I rocked up with a galaxy note (one) Loved my phablet, but it was 3x the size of everyone else's apple phones I dont take many calls so its always been about having data and browsing web via my phone for me, so I just wanted a decent screen I could read and work with. I now own a galaxy K zoom, superb phone, its basically the s4 but with a 10x optical zoom lens fitted to the back of it. I'm a keen photographer and have been very impressed with what I can achieve via my mobile phone/camera. I always buy my phone outright and than get a sim only deal, so I choose to be a few steps behind the latest gear so I dont bankrupt myself but I just picked up a galaxy s5 neo for my daughter and the screen is superb and shes thrilled with it. Paid £159 for it (reconditioned) and its immaculate

I will be looking for a new phone come April, I don't have the first idea about them unfortunately.
I have a HTC at the minute but had a Galaxy prior, do you think this would be a good bet to go with come upgrade time?

I'm another Samsung lover. I have an iphone (supplied by work ), it's ok but I wouldn't buy one personally as I don't see what all the fuss is about. My own mobile is a Sony xperia z1. I've never really liked it, it has a mind of it's own...grrrrrrr.
When this contract expires, I'll be looking to buy phone outright and sim only contract. I hope to get another Samsung of some description.

BrenDthe only thing that bugged me about the entire presentation was the suggestion they had listened to users and introduced "new features" that copy those being used by a minor competitor for several years, I agree the phones aesthetics are pleasing and it does have the best screen on a phone so far and indeed it seems the best camera to date but it did rather nark me them intimating they had done something innovative when Microsoft introduced glance screen several years ago with the first generation windows phone 8 handsets, and it was something nokia had been doing on their Symbian phones since 2004 (well that's the earliest nokia touchscreen handset I had that did anyway) still it does look like a good bit of kit, if only it came with windows 10 on I would buy one today (not a dig I just don't find android fits my needs in the same way the windows phone does, besides I had an s2 a few years back and I liked the phone but I needed the money so it went to the cash shop and I got a £20 cheapo in exchange)

But if you can live without the expandable storage and waterproofing and live with a smaller battery, the S6 Edge is a stunning phone and will be somewhat cheaper by the time the S7 hits the streets. Only go for the S7 if you think you'll use the power it brings to the table. If you use your phone for calls/texts and the odd bit of browsing, the S6 will do all you need and more. Sent from my X5pro using proboards don't sell the ip68 rating short there, the s6 doesn't have it and the number of folks who drop a phone in a sink/bucket /loo is rather high, you wouldn't want to waste the price of an s6 when for a few quid more you could work rest or play with something that wont mind the kids abusing it in the paddling pool come summer ....... and its not just the little sort of kids that the last part.....
