... if you weren't on here talking jibberish to strangers? I don't do Facebook or Twitter (no friends ), but do feel safe on here talking absolute rubbish, in amongst the valuable posts regarding vaping... best of both worlds. Years ago (many years ago), I'd be down the local pub, setting the world to rights with a pint, a pickled egg and some crisps. Most of the village would be there during the evening and I do so miss those nights. Will they ever return for our youngsters, or will they be consigned to a digital relationship, with no 'real' feeling of belonging to a community. That's my thought for the night.

I spend some time browsing Facebook don't post much and also post on a computer forum, I 'am better of not being down the pub as the ones round here are rough, ask for a pint as a first timer and they give the local hospital number with your change, LOL.

That is awful joeten ... I'm going back to the 60s/70s in a village down south, where life was peaceful, and I wish everyone else could experience it, but I fear it is long gone.

Now that the laws on stalking have changed I'd probably be sat at home. Stalking is not a laughing matter kids.

I do wonder if I'm sad being on here so much sometimes. But then I think of not so long ago I'd be drinking 10 pints a night, smoke 10 fags at least and even do some illegal stuff. Yeah I had lots of fun but I spent a lot of money on a lot of unhealthy activities. I'm quite happy now having the occasional few pints and spending more time with my wife and children when I can. Vaping is my only hobby and I enjoy all aspects of it and sharing things on here. If I find myself chatting jibberish and having some fun on here with strangers then great. Most people here don't get too serious or personal and I find myself giggling quite often. Working away all week I find I have time to be on here as well so all good. Anyway enough rambling If I weren't on here I'd probably be spending money in a pub

I do venture into town every so often for a meal and drink with the missus, and on an odd occasion meet a friend, but I work and most times it's back shift so that does limit things.

I'm only on-line evenings really during winter months, come clocks change and I am out with the ponies til it's dark most nights. Daughter works 3 nights a week so that's when tank maintenance and mixing gets done, she doesn't venture out much other than work, spends all her time on her phone but I do enjoy the rare times we actually sit and watch a DVD together, box sets for xmas and they last til clocks change - LOL! Only venture out in public on birthdays for a local pub meal with the family, not at all a social butterfly like I used to be, actually I'm considered a miserable old cow by my work colleagues as I never go anywhere

i hang around in a couple of brewing and related forums, most just as friendly and helpful as this place and it was from within one of those boards i received the pointer to here. i can also be found lurking on some beginners diy electronics sites like the arduino playground where i am too dim to ask real questions, but have found help and inspiration for a few winning projects and more failures

My Uncle used to run the pub, and it was a few hundred yards from where I finished work, so a very popular 'watering hole'. I also struck up a 'relationship' there with a previous school friend, who'd married, and we were the 'talk of the town' when one of our vehicles were still in the car park in the morning. Why am I telling you this

Why am I telling you this Cos you no longer go down the pub to tell folks there Seriously though, it's human nature, we may (like me) be fine living on our own, but we do need to at least bounce off thought & ideas with others, in any way we can

I still think about the old times out, when we met up with mates in the pub. It was a big thing then. Lots of laughs. And cry's. We would all meet up, and arrange to go out on a run on Sunday on the Motor Bikes. Mostly up to the lakes. Great times where had. Now don't even know the neighbour's. Been in house 20 years
