funny thing about li-po batts unlike li-ion they have been in a non commercial investigative stage since the late 70's, are too unstable to be mass produced and whilst limited success has been found any change in pressure of more than 50mb is enough to cause spontaneous combustion ( which means just normal weather changes can do it ), true li-po cells have a 50% increase in power capacity and efficiency but so far no lab created unit has ever managed to enter commercial production.... certain technologies have been transferred across from one to the other like the polymer shell (a danger all on its own) that allows a mouldable cell to be formed and used as required, unfortunately the same mouldable cell tech is the reason its so dangerous because the structure gets damaged by the incorrect non uniform application of pressure to the cell structure often leading to electrolyte leackage or delamination within the internal structure, both things can cause spontaneous destruction ....
several stories have been produced that demonstrate just how dangerous li-ion cells are in various different states and packing methods, yet when there fitted (more than 90% of commercial aircraft utilise li-ion cell packs) and in use they trasit around the globe quite well (indeed the main part of a battery on the majority of aircraft was for many years called an alkaline gell cell, and they operated with lithium ion conductors) twice the power for 1/3rd the weight of other liquid cells
so the primary problem is not the parts within the cells but how they are put together and any impurities in the manufacturing process ...

I think they will do everything in their power to get a new shipper arranged ASAP as a hell of a lot of their business is in Electronics with batteries built in. Mobiles, tablets, laptops, digital watches too name a few. I've a shipment on hold because of a watch battery

yeah very true pretty much every electronic device's power unit in the world is either made / assembled or packaged in china I cant see all the I-chavs being happy about no new releases for the next decade because of power cell shortages .....
surface ships were never the best way to move goods, although they can do the job too much cargo gets damaged through salt moisture....
fortunately the CAA/FAA rulings only apply to passenger /cargo flights not all cargo flights (that's down to the operator) unfortunately only a handful of postal options use their own cargo hauliers the rest rely on passenger freight space ...

Just keep an eye on your tracking numbers
17track seems to be one of the better trackers to use
My tracking update for the 03 03 was only added today
So it looks like they have used their resources for shifting packages, then left the keyboard bashing and paperwork for when things quietened down
If your not sure about tracking your packages, share the tracking numbers to see what can be found

I had an order for a spare smartphone battery from Bangood dispatched via Sweden Post on 3/3/16. The tracking updated to pre-advice received on 4/3/16 then nothing until 2 days ago when "warning notice 03/05/16 17:25" appeared. I contacted Bangood and they replied that my order was one of many that had been returned due to a ban on li-on batteries. Paypal payment was refunded immediately with apology. Looks like Sweden is no longer an option.

Today in my FT tracking: www.directlink.com/en/Pages/home.aspx24/03/16 20:59 "Due to recent terrorist activities in Europe, increased security measures are now in force indefinitely.Your package may be delayed due to these precautions. We apologise for any inconvenience caused." Just kill terrorists...constantly!
