Just got into diy and managed to clone 3 flavors I like already. I'm struggling for a good strawberry milkshake though, my attempts seem to lack depth? I think custard or vanilla would help, any thoughts or recipes appreciated

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, that's what will make the difference - I am currently vaping a Strawberry Milkshake with the aforementioned, and it's very tasty!

Good advice ^^^ - my SM is losing it's identity a bit, and it was mixed about 3 months ago. I'm using the same recipe as Perpetua posted as well . . .

Apricot at a low percentage, 1-2% is brilliant for enhancing a Strawberry flavour I've found Andy chykensa - though I've not tried it in this particular mix, it's worked very well in my Strawberry/Yoghurt stuff.

I think Strawberry Ripe works better than regular TFA Strawberry, the VB still overpowers a little bit over time but not as much.

I use that mix as a stand alone, but also as a base for adding other flavours. TPA Blueberry at 2%, or 3% TPA Banana is lovely. Will try some other "sweet" fruits when I get some, apricot sounds good as would peach I suspect.

OK i really don't get on with vbic I get the pepper taste from it. Playing around with strawberry ripe, whipped cream and capella custard v1 but it's too custardy. I'm looking for that custard note in big mamas milk without the sickly. Apparently it's a blend of 4 creams and strawberry

Recipe as per Perpetua but I add 2% Bavarian cream on a 50/50 PG/VG base. Outlandishly good. You're very welcome.

Luckily I don't get the pepperiness and love TFA VBIC

Well I could flippantly say that it brings a creamy flavour from a region of Germany. That description wouldn't be far wrong. It gives it a good body, depth, smoothness, creaminess and a sweetness.

It doesn't make things taste 'dairy cream'.

Dragonfruit used at 1-2% is another that will enhance the Strawberry flavour, and help prevent VBIC from smothering it.
