Got my three subtanks and all the rebuild kit
Got three reels of wire and my coiler
0.4mm 26 gauge 0.32mm 28 gauge 0.2mm 32 gauge
I know the thicker the wire, the more coils I need for my 2 to 2.5 ohm heads Been playing with steam engine
The question
Whats best in the subtank rebuildable heads Thicker wire and more wraps or thinner wire and less wraps for the coils?
18 wraps 12 wraps 5 wraps
Im down to 199 sheets of puff cotton

Why don't you build all 3 with the three different wires and see which YOU prefer?

I thought it best to ask in case there was any magic rule of thumb and newby errors with the rebuildable heads ie more wire for a better vape, if there is such a rule

Only FT sent me a Coilmaster with 4 coiling poles missing. Now searching my drill box. I suspect its a bit of trial and error...too many variables? Did not notice any diagram anywhere with a family of curves for the AWG types.

Tip on this recoiling lark Don't have your wire in your Kuro and on the reel, then let go of the reel Rewinding 10m of wire aint fun 18 wraps fills the head and shorts out And you bleed if you stab your finger with an end not cut back

if your vaping at 2ohms id think the .4 wire may be a lil too hot for you. I do 7 wraps of .3 (1ohmish) on a lil blue screw driver for every tank i use. I find the fat wire is way to hot for my tastes.

Personally I would go for the thinner wires. The .4mm is more suited to building subohm tanks. The thicker the wire the more ramp up time you will have too.

18 wraps?
What wire are you using?
Gotta ask because it sounds like you're using nickel or something else with very low resistance and that stuff is for TC vaping and you don't want a .25ohm coil for TC.

Typical youngsters 2.5 ohm coils were what I started vaping with on my first tank. Protank 2, which has only just been retired after two years of daily use Ended up with about six of them 2 to 2.5ohm wont drink juice and gives longer between battery charges Not bulk buying my juice from China and paying a whopping 95p for 10ml, this could start to get expensive Im on 14 wraps 28 AWG / 0.32mm round a 2.5mm spindle and getting half decent results I have only ordered an rx200 to make young uns cry When they ask what watts Im pushing, I will smile with my death defying 9 watt builds

Lee I think the fact you're building that high on a subtank threw me too. They're designed for sub ohm style vaping. Thanks for calling me young though.

I have been feeling old since I got back to the UK 10 years drinking in bars on the Costa Blanca, surrounded by the blue rinse coffin dodgers and anyone under 60 being seen as toy boys Now Im back, I have had comments like "my dad does the same as you" as I pull out my reading glasses, from 20 something's working on tills Im on a mission to get my 7ml subtank plus to last three days between fills and my subtank minis to last two days Cant wait to see how the rx200 handles 9 watts
