hi guys.
apologies if this is a bad first post.
I have been vaping for nearly two years now using the pen type battery and I am getting increasingly disappointed in the flavours that I am buying, I have 30 half used bottles.
I recently visited a vaping shop and he let me try what he called a mod and the vapour taste was really nice, loads of vapour and a really nice taste and he said the nicotine was .3 whereas I have been vaping at 18mg.
unfortunately he said to get set up using what he was using would cost in the region of £75 and none of my existing tanks would be useable as the liquid is a lot thicker. and also my battery was not powerful enough.
my question is can I get setup cheaper and if so how please.
thanks in advance if anybody can help.

Welcome darrenSure, you can go a bit cheaper - no problem at all. He is mostly correct about everything though. You need a mod & a tank with coils suitable for higher power. My only argument would be with the 'thicker juice' comment. Most people (of course) use higher VG liquid for more clouds and (less throat hit from the PG). The .3 interests me though. In simple terms, as you double the power, you should halve your Nicotine. If you are used to 18mg then unless you want to take a dive down in Nicotine, are you really going to vape at 6 times the power? Maybe, maybe not.

A nice set-up at the moment would be something like a Joyetech mini eVic VTC and a Kanger subtank mini. The 'cheap as chips' option would be an iStick and an Eleaf bargain-basement tank. My set-up today is eVic mini and Eleaf GS tank. I'm also trying out the temperature control (Nickel/Ni200) atomizer heads. The question of whether to temp control or not is going to be relevant. Here is a kit you might consider. myepack.co.uk/mods/kanger-subox-mini-kit.htmlIt's got it all going on... rebuildable 'head', various coils, mod and tank. Not bad.

Welcome to you darren . I'd think you were probably given something to try in a 3mg strength . . . . with the more efficient tank systems there are, compared to what you're using - then you can afford to drop your nicotine strength without it being terribly noticeable. Although I'd think that a little low initially until you adjust.

Welcome to aaec, good advice above, but the choices can be very bewildering.. as I use an evic mini mod i can thoroughly recommend it. and can be bought for as little as £25 www.gearbest.com/temperature-control-mods/pp_239873.html?wid=3It is a mod that will need batteries, some like the Istick 30w and 50w models have batteries built in. but most folk seem to opt for batteries that can be exchanged for recharging for convenience the kanger subtank mini tanks have been around a while and have a loyal bunch of users and lots of build vids for the rebuildable head option if you want to make your own coils and stop buying the off the shelf cartridges.. they have also been cloned by a chinese manufacturer and the clones while 1/2 the price are just as good as the originals imho.. www.fasttech.com/products/3006/10004861/2106401-authentic-kangertech-subtank-mini-clearomizerand the cheaper clone.. www.fasttech.com/products/0/10012000/2568500-subtank-mini-v2-styled-occ-clearomizerbuying from china does require patience as the post can take anything from just over a week to well over 4 weeks to arrive, and also be careful only to order goods in stock avoid preorders like the plague you can wait months... However in my limited (or not so..) experience shopping direct from china for vape gear the savings outweigh the odd delay and frustration while FT and GB the two chinese sellers linked to above are pretty good at labeling goods correctly as authentic or styled (code for clone) when purchasing the 18650 batteries that fit in most of the mods its best to buy from trusted uk suppliers of known to be honestly labeled batteries, on ebay the seller torchyboy is known and trusted seller.. the popular vaping batteries in the 18650 format are the sony vct4 and vct5, Samsung 25R, and LG H2.

Not for me, I'm sorry to say. That's the old VTC kit and too many VTCs are prematurely dead, beyond repair.

ok thanks for that I value you guys opinion, back to the drawing board :-) You could go into your local 'Wicked' store and look at the eVic mini VTC.... except they won't call it that and the price might be dodgy.
