and in one fell swoop they eradicate all hardware newer than feb 2007 from sale in the market place .....

not to mention 1500 hours to lodge a single PMTA for each part of a delivery system (tank /mod/coil) I cant even see tobacco companies going through that nonsense at a couple of million dollars a pop

Early days but seems like US vapers have 2 years to enjoy what they have, then it all gets banned. Flavours included..

dunno the live blog indicates that its 90 days from today (august 10th) that it comes into effect so I was going off that,

although you could be right since it seems the FDA who admit the 1500 hours is roughly equivalent to 18 months somehow expect stuff to still be on sale when the regulations come into effect, the tricky part so far is the mention of the 2007 date for hardware that's allowed to still be sold after august 10th,

I rather suspect there actually trying to hatchet the entire vape industry out of the USA to protect the MSA irrespective of harm to the general public, then again there always moaning about the population growing too fast so perhaps they need to induce the half million + deaths a year from smoking related illness .....

And we thought we had it bad. The only problem for us will the curtailment of product development in China as the USA will be their biggest market. So less choice for us all.

given that half those products are designed in the USA and made in china its going to seriously crimp the innovation side of things, and it sounds like china is about to introduce similar rules to prevent use or manufacture in their country to protect their tobacco company as well, unless someone at the top of the food chain has a different idea about the direction for their national cigarette industry to take .....

I really, really don't see how bottles of flavour concentrates can get banned, not when they're used for baking/drink enhancement purposes - which is where our market nabbed them from in the first instance.

Perhaps I'm missing something . . . . .

I wonder if they actually mean as in 'flavoured' e-liquid won't be available on the shelves Perpetua as opposed to actual flavourings?

I think that refers to this:

Nicotine-free e-liquid that is intended or reasonably expected to be used with or for the human consumption of tobacco products in most cases would be a component or part of a tobacco product and, therefore, within the scope of this rule. These products will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. (p222)

ETA I read it a flavourings not flavours, sorry

I wondered that myself TJ . . . . there'll be ways around that for anyone who doesn't want to get into actual DIY. What seems like many moons ago now, Enjuice used to sell a ' Flavour Pod ' a measured amount of flavouring which could be added to a bottle of pre-made or unflavoured eliquid. An option that could be re-considered perhaps.

Unfortunately, the ' work arounds ' will inevitably be more costly and could appear faffy to someone just starting out or considering switching to ecigs and could possibly be a deterrent.

I can't get my head around this legislative madness when the very reason ecigs came into being was to provide a healthier, credible alternative for smokers.

Which as we all know, they are.
