But nicotine has many uses other than for eliquid, maybe they will just tax all nicotine to cover all uses to ensure that vaping does get taxed?? For all current diyers it will be easy enough to stock enough nic to last 5-10 years. Even then we have China! The biggest loses post TPD will be the people yet to find vaping or those that are not mixing their own liquid. I would have much more respect for governing bodies if they just admitted that they want the revenue from vaping rather than claim they are "protecting people" I don't get involved with politics in any form because the very thought of how much we constantly get screwed over from every angle is enough to drive a man to the edge! I would imagine that parcels from Fasttech, Gearbest Etc will come under closer inspection from HMRC. If the parcels are found to contain goods that are banned under the TPD then they wi be confiscated, just like other goods are.

Hopefully Fasttech et al will come up with a pseudo shipper if that is the case. Easy to do on their part. Not easy for HMRC to spot, given that Chinese packets will be in their thousands, as it's not just vapers that order stuff from China.

Considering that all the Chinese dealers I use, write the packages up as toys, spares, samples etc. and never priced at over $20, it will be a nightmare for HMRC to check everything coming through Heathrow unless they take on hundreds of extra staff. I can't see the Government spending extra on staff given their desperation to make cuts, so I think it will be business as usual. I could of course be wrong but

Or at least I hope so.

At this moment in time the Chinese are given a free pass on both customs and postage For example it is possible to buy an item from china and have it delivered to your UK address By the royal mail for a total 99p ( item+ packing and postage) Yet if you wished to then post the package on to another UK address it would cost you £2.85 second class and if you wished to return it to China it would be a min of £4.20 At some point in time things are going to change and China will be the " Bad boys" once again -
