As we say farewell to the Boleyn Ground after 112 years and on to our new home.
Many many memories from childhood and adulthood.

Hope it ends happily for you X&Y Although not a good start with the ManU bus being attacked and the start delayed... why does the mindless minority always spoil it for the genuine supporters Here's hoping for no more trouble and you will be able to have happy memories of the last match at your 'home'

Nothing new about trouble with West Ham "supporters" Raffles. Been happening for donkeys. Just be thankful they're not playing Millwall.... No disrespect X&Y, but you know what I mean.... "Inter-city Firm" etc.......

Yeah I know X&Y. Some clubs attract it though because of "previous". Leeds, Millwall, West Ham, Chelsea, Birmingham etc. The films they made in the 70's/80's almost glorified it, so now, thugs seem to pick a team with a past violent event and go along to satisfy their neanderthal needs. I'm not saying that the fans are causing the problem, just that some clubs are plagued with past history, bringing mindless thugs to show up and stir up crowd assisted violence. It's easy to get caught up in the mood of a crowd. Panic does the same. Any crowd can be psychologically managed to do anything. That is what these idiots do. For fun (?).

It brings back a few memories for me as well. I lived near Upton Park as we used to call it when I was 9/10 and that is where I saw my first ever live football match - West ham were in the 2nd division in those days, but I guess I must have seen Malcolm Allinson playing for them. I thoroughly enjoyed it on the few occasions I managed to persuade my Dad to take me

I thoroughly enjoyed it on the few occasions I managed to persuade my Dad to take me davei've always known it as Upton Park as well Saw Martin Samuel, Hammer's fan, on Sunday Supplement the weekend arguing the point as well. Apparently it's a commercial thing to call it the Boleyn Ground, don't understand why though. His argument, bizarrely even though he was for calling it UP, was that Upton Park was just a tube station. No it's an area. He countered his own argument. Strange. Although i have no time for them, bit like the Celtic Park/Parkhead thing.
