I expect them to enact a ban on vaping sales within Ireland from may 2017 with a transposition of the remainder of the TPD as is enacted direct given the lack of information and the time scale at hand, they will then amend and produce policies that either fly in the face of or comply with the e-cig side of the TPD, primarily due to the fact half their income is from big pharma related companies many of the arrangements though are under investigation by the EC and the ECB for legislative irregularities
time will tell but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the road they take, funny thing is they wont ban sales from outside Eire because it would be impossible to police given their open boarder with NI and their successive inability to police it in any effective way for decades before it was formally opened up.
of course the new government will make policies that might change things in the months after the initial totalitarian ban is announced but only if htye get a new health minister and chief surgeon, the ones they had in the lead up to the disruption caused by recent elections have been complete ideologues totally against nicotine consumption in any form and were pushing for complete bans ....

no no nano. Facts have to be.... well, factual. but the good doctor alluded too has proclaimed many times he doesn't have any because theres no proper research available and so to protect the children he has been campaigning for a complete ban ......

Miss the deadline, ditch the plan. "Kick it into the long grass", as they say in many places. Job done.

well their public health branch is 50% funded by the pharma industry and there are more pharma related industries incorporated in Eire than any other business type (super low tax rate deals and all that) so whilst the countries total income might not be made up of pharma related businesses paying tax the statement I made before isn't wrong, its just not as broadly applicable as you thought /
