Daisy, the last creature standing..
..has given up....
Frail as she has been for the last year or so she stopped eating on the day that Toby died, yesterday.
She ventured downstairs for the first time in over a year, lay down in my hallway and hadn't moved for 24 hours.
I placed her in a comfortable bed, had the 'conversation' with her where I thanked her for her love and loyalty over the last 19 years, and told her I would be ok if she decided she wanted to go find the Rainbow Bridge.
And she has decided to go with the boys, Toby and Mungo.
Her precious heart stopped beating whilst I stroked and talked gently to her.
And I am far from OK but am glad that she is...
The Boys will be horrified when they see her.
They thought they had escaped her ways of terrifying them..
My sweet and loving lady has gone.

Oh lynwlt I am so so sorry that your babies have left you, I am also in tears reading this. They give us so much and expect so little in return. A little piece of me dies inside each time one of my fur babies leaves for the bridge, I can only imagine the pain you are feeling right now but rest easy that they will all be together waiting patiently for us to join them in spirit. xxxxx |

lynwlt I could hardly find any words at all when I posted earlier on. But just wanted to say more. Several years ago, Benjy, for some unknown reason, wandered down to the main road & was hit by a van. The vets tried to save him, but to no avail & he went over the bridge at about mid day Just a few hours later, Tasha who had been with me 17 years (she moved in as an adult stray) keeled over. I rushed her to the vets but there was nothing they could do for her as she had suffered a massive stroke & was paralysed & blind. The vet just helped her on her way I swear to this day that Tasha knew the pain would be far greater for me if she hung on before letting go of life, a few weeks/months down the line, just as I was starting to get over loosing Benjy. I think Daisy has done the same thing for you

I know it is far too soon, but I'm sure that Toby & Daisy would look down & smile at you, whenever you decided to give a new furry friend a loving home |
