Hi All, I have not been active on the forum for a while, have occasionally lurked but not posted. I have been happily vaping on my DNA30, Coolfire iv, smok xpro m65 with either the goblins or subtank nano, depending on my mood and wicking skills!
I must admit, staying off here has saved me money, I think my shinyitis was getting too much!
I have been asked to help 2 people start vaping so was looking to see if anyone had any pointers? One, my niece's husband, has tried briefly before and has an istick (I presume 30w) but no tank, the other is his mother, who has never tried it.
I have some old gear that I am taking over so they can try before they buy, to see what sort of stuff works for them. I have some isticks that they can have and was going to take the nautilus minis which i have bought some new 1.6ohm coils for. I have some protanks, emows and others I can't remember now, is it worth taking those, are they still good to start out on? Can you still buy the coils? Any ideas of other kit for starting out now. It is 2 years since I started and so much has changed.
I have just got a few 18mg juices with my last order, but I think they may need higher, but at least they can try to see if it suits their taste and go in to a local vape shop to try others if not.
Does anyone have any advice how to introduce people to vaping? I am keen to help them both as it is my two great nephews living in the house with them.
Thanks in advance for any help. Red

sounds like a great start for them, nothing wrong with all that kit you mention - I still only use protanks, still a good vape coils still readily available.. If you think the juice may not be strong enough, get them to vape longer until their craving subsides, and get their technique right p.s good to see you back here, and glad you're still off the baccy

Brilliant, thanks GunJack I will check if I have any coils for the protanks, if not I will pick up a couple before I see them. I can see me emptying my cupboard of all my old stuff, saves it going to waste and gets it out of my house

I have suprised myself GunJack coming up for 2 years, still get an occasional craving for a cig (still have about 5 left in a pack in the cupboard ) but never succumbed. Happily vaping away on 3mg and have ordered myself an evic mini and a tfv4 from fasttech for my anniversary *shopping*

I pushed my wife over to an iStick 30W with a Kayfun (2ml) on top recently. She had been on e-lites and slowly experienced the failed battery from new effect. She was at 12mg NIC I think? From smoking to the e-lite worked easily because I think the e-lite tasted of a fag.
She had watched me with chimneys and declared no interest. Took a few shots from me on about £200 per 6 weeks for e-lites and she caved into the iStick arrangement tentatively. Just the juice problem remained and worried me a bit. What flavour would she accept?
I tried with a menthol/spearmint mix at 8mg because she recognised the menthol fags. That worked pretty much immediately until a few days later she got fed up with it. So try the lime/lemon mix I said...she went for that ok. I note after about 3 weeks she'll vape anything I mix up now. Anything a bit iffy I put about 8 drips of Amaretto in...fixed!
A lot of the strength/taste sensation should be adjusted with power controls and airflow. The throat hit is from the glycerine, and the NIC only satisfies the brain.
Once someone gets used to the mechanical setup and fiddling about it'll work I think. Its just the flavour/juices that make life a little awkward. Money saving is a massive realisation though! Add health saving.

Another for protanks - just don't forget the socc coils - make life a lot easier (no priming hardly needed) Jane

Hiya reddragon! I'm with GunJack, nothing wrong with iSticks, mini Nautis & ProTanks, they're inexpensive, simple, work well & it's what I use full time. Good for you & lucky them, in you they have an experienced vaper to guide them, they'll ditch the baccy in no time.

Whenever any newbies want to start vaping I always point them to An evic mini with a Samsung 25r and a crown tank. Plenty of options with that setup, cheap and gives enough to satisfy even the heaviest smoker. The people that have gone that way absolutely love vaping now
