...supports regulation of the vaping industry that is proportionate to the risks and potential benefits of e-cigarettes; and calls on the Government to withdraw the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 and to encourage the European Commission to propose amendments to the Tobacco Products Directive at the earliest opportunity.

Well done the Lib Dems. With all this parliamentary action going on, it is looking better and better that we will get the changes we want, and with a great deal of luck, the Lords will vote down the SI. Unlike the other more controversial stuff, the Government may not mind having it overturned. They can then use the excuse, aren't we great we listen to the people shit. With the EU referendum coming up shortly after the Lords vote the odds are decidedly in our favour as the Remain lot will use it as propaganda to say we do have power in the UK and can remain in the EU.

However if we vote IN, then the bets are off again.  The EU will want to enforce their directive, so the pressure will be on again to reintroduce it again.

I've just emailed my MP again (have yet to get a reply to my last email ).... asking him to support EDM 115.
(I notice that some of his Party colleagues have signed.... so fingers crossed).

Am I being stupid here ? but should we be contacting our MP's asking them to support EDM 75 or EDM 115 or both ?.

I'm not sure wil7985 ....but to me whilst EDM 75 acknowledges the usefulness of e-cigs, and I think that it questions the value of smoking cessation services.
... To me I think we need to be focusing our efforts on trying to get the TPD amended, which is EDM 115.
