Serpent mini build?

I found 2 strips of old credit card under the coil while you are tightening it made it much easier to hold the wire in the right place, keep the rod in the coil, hold the ends of the wire down and tighten.

I really like my serpent mini now BUT every time I re fill I get gurgling and a leak from the air inlet, I thought it was my wick but it isn't iv noticed every time I remove the top cap the chimney is sort of capped off with juice and that soon runs down the chimney and I'm sure that is what is the problem but iv no idea how to stop it happening and it's driving me mad well madder if that's a word lol.

have you replaced the top cap seals?

Yes Steve iv even tried a slightly bigger o ring but it still does it.

I get the exact same thing.

If I leave it for a few hours when I pick it up it immediately starts gurgling at me. When I fill it it does exactly the same? Spitting and gurgling.

I've tried leaving a bit of a gap when filling, filling it to the top. Keeping it upright. Tuning it upside down when screwing the top cap back. Gave up in the end and now I just use good old bottom fill. This avoids the spitting and the constant flooding I get with top fill no matter how I wick it.

Not sure why or how I can stop it. I use a simply 1.1ohm coil at 23w.

I don't see much point in putting a lower ohm build in as even at 23w it's empty after an hour.

But he flavour is great and despite its flaws I really like the tank so I'll carry on until I find a build that works.

Just got one of these yesterday. Put a NiCrome Fused Clapton in it that happened to be laying around in my box of screw drivers as I pulled it out of another atty. Tried leaving the wick just on the deck and not down the juice feed hole and it was a nightmare. It pissed 1/2 a tank of juice out when I filled it and was a spitty nightmare. Re-wicked and put more cotton through the coil and cut it so the wick was actually down the juice channels. Trimmed any excess off the top of the wick. Much better now, no leaks and vaping like a champ. Coil comes out at about 0.6 ohms and its a warm vape. Running it at 35W.

The supplied drip tip is very short so I changed that for something taller and acrylic which has also helped.

Tanks OK for the money but I have better.

Yeah, I've tried multiple builds and I am at a total loss as to why this tank has a reputation for good flavour, the flavour is OKish, but fairly muted. The vape is OK but hot, I can get more flavour if I turn the temp up a lot and burn my lips, throw the included drip tip unless you like burning your lips. IMO it's main positive is it's size, but that comes at a price: very low liquid capacity. It has lots of good ideas that could have been executed far better, especially the build deck and if they did a better job of the top fill you could get a lot more capacity. All in all it's could do better, the biggest disappointment was that lack of flavour, if it had decent flavour I could overlook the other things, maybe the next version will be half decent.

Horses for courses innit! I find the flavour awesome and overall its a great little atty. When I refill I try not to get juice in the chimney but its still a learning curve for me.
Trying out the avocado as I type, but find flavour muted a tad in that

Now I am stalking you! Same boat. I have 4 serpent minis and think they are cracking tanks. Minimal parts, easy to coil and wick etc. Like everything in vaping, one persons gold is another persons ...

I watched meganemerald fart about with her avocado at vapefest and had to have one. Its doing ok so far. Probably be my out and about atty cos its so easy

I have four, two in use, two likely to remain boxed for a while.
Flavour being subjective : poor with vanilla custards, ok ish with Rustard, poor with raspberry and strawberry.
They are convenient, compact and take a decent enough coil to put my subtank minis in the shade.

Had a couple of these in my fasttech basket as I've got a load of credit to get through but think I'll have another look around for something else. Hmmmm avocados you say. Time to google. Just need something easy to coil n wick.

They are not terrible and plenty of people love them, I was mainly making the point they don't have much flavour, not bad flavour it is like the flavour volume has been turned down compared with an Aromanizer.  Sure they are better than Subtanks, but that's not saying much IMHO YMMV.  I thought I may have been over hard on them, but I have 2 Serpents & 4 Aromanzieres on the go right now and comparing them back to back I don't think I was.

Cheers vb. I tend to use tfv4 minis as they've been no bother and are a doddle to coil and wick but fancy something different for a whirl. Was tempted by these but fiddly wicking puts me off. Might have a look at the batchelors and the herakles and whatever else I can find.

I agree with VapingBad I find the flavour a bit lacking considering the monster coil I fitted. I get more flavour from a Kayfun5 or the Rose 3. I expected more favour having seen a few reviews.

It's not bad but it's not fantastic either.
