Serpent mini build?

Hi all

So I got delivery of the well rated SM and looks great and put a fused SS316L Clapton in there at 0.2Ohm. However it's a bit of a lama, spitting and gurgling!

Think I might have overdone it with that one so looking for advice on what works well, for flavour please!

Prefer TC and have loads of different wire!

I'm hoping @spikeyfridge and Pepperty might be able to help!

Chucked in the coil it came with to start with but using nichrome 0.5 ohm precoiled from fasttech. I fan the wick ends out

You may not have enough wick in there, too loose. I stuff loads in, but use pg heavy juice.

I have two set ups in my SMs

1) nichrome fused clapton which doesn't leak, gurgle or spit. it took 3-4 goes to get it right, obviously its all about the wicking...rayon did it for this build. 2x26/32g wrap 0.29ohms 35w max with 70vg.

2) 3mm x 5 turns titanium 0.48mm/0.2mm clapton, 0.19ohms, tried straight 0.5mm/0.6mm just didn't seem to vape that.
And I couldn't get a twisted wire to clamp.
For some reason this tank really doesn't vape that well until its down to the last 1/3 and then it rips. Wicking/vaccum.....I don't know.
It needs a rebuild, the resistance is wandering, I knocked it over and from cold the base resistance can blip from 0.19 to 0.21.grrr.

Is it me or is cellucotton beauty coil like rocking horse poo?

Don't seem to be able to find it in bulk anywhere.

lol, I've done the google thing to death already.

The right stuff was $16 in the US with $60 post + maybe? duty and tax?  I'm really not sure if I want that much, I could sell it but then there would be bags, envelopes, postage and of course fibres everywhere.
Amazon was £360.66p for the same ( out of stock imo )or £13 for 12m of cotton not rayon which seems to be a popular mistake to make.
Otherwise stores that couldn't ship international, UK stores that were OOS or no longer supplying and those awful compare type search engine links that went nowhere either.

I may have to bite the bullet and order a big one, and rewick every tank and dripper twice daily.

Best way I've found paulbee is to make sure the ends of the cotton are nice and fluffy and sit it down on the deck making sure the whole deck is covered. I don't put any down the channels at all. Not had a single flood, gurgle or dry hit

A22/23awg kanthal, 3mm x 8 wraps comes out at around 0.5ohms.

Remember to wrap anti clockwise. Scottish roll and wick like its a clapton, the wick should barely move.

Brush / fluff wick and trim to just above juice channel. You want the wick to sit above them, like the Goblin or Bellus.

trying to find rayon and can only find silica can you post the link to it pretty please 
have been wanting to buy some for an age but amazon want an arm and a leg and i haven't had much luck sourcing from elsewhere so if anyone knows of a great bargain/deal for rayon please let me know

That was an error on my part it was Silica, I have now edited the original post to show that.
