I will be frowned upon,i know
One of my Grandkids dodged a PE lesson today and i think its funny and i am proud of her.I have 7 and i have been waiting for one of them to show sum true grit.None of them have ever dodged school,got in trouble,been cheecky to teachers,nothing.They just trudge along following the sheep.
Please dont think i want her to progress to further trouble but she has a bit of "puppy fat" and i know how she feels when they make her do stupid embarrassing things in PE so i am very proud that she refused to do it,good on her.

I think its a must to at least skip one lesson at school I hated PE and was always skipping it and could usually be found somewhere puffing away

:-[As someone who works in education I can't believe that a grandparent would condone them missing a class of any sort. :-[
Education is not about following along being "sheep" its about giving children the opportunity to develop in every aspect - mentaly, emotionally and physically.
If she does have "puppy fat" then all the more reason to be doing physical exercise. If that weight is not lost when she is young and her metabolism is at its most active, then it will lead to bigger health problems in the future...

Lol Doc,like i said,i will get frowned upon.I didnt post it to get into the serious side of education. I stand by what i have said,at least no kids are laughing at her today!
I dont expect anyone to back me up either but i am sure someone has been in her place at sometime and wished they had said "NO"

Oh please spare me, missing out on one lesson is not doing that much harm, I hated PE at school I never was a sports person, I was constantly bullied in PE for weight issues. Thus refused to participate and ended up in the class doing lines alot of the time. I remember the lines well they said I must remember my PE kit. lol

Exactly Bel,i was a bit naughty too,smoking in the rabbit hutch shed and truanted a lot the last 2 years.Went to college after though and did quite well

Dont know about anyone else but i am always playing badminton,netball,rounders and doing cross country in the snow...not

Just to clear something up,its puppy fat,shes not fat and is very active,eats fruit and veg.

My point was not specifically about missing PE, but condoning skipping one class might give her the impression that skipping others is ok. But hey, at the end of the day, it's nothing to do with me so I'm not going to worry about it.

Sorry Doc understand your point from a education point of view but for PE nah, its the only lesson I never paid attention in. I apologise and will write out 500 lines saying I must not be so argumentative. lol apologies.

Doc,i am not going to tell her i think its funny,i am just saying i am proud that she took action to spare herself from bullying,go her.

Must dash,got a bit of shot putting to do before i put my logarithms to use on a new pair of shoes.
