my sxk Kayfun V5 turned up today. Destined for the top of my provari P3 and some non-sub-ohm vaping. First impressions is that it is going to be a touch top heavy and well I haven't been buying shorter stumpy tanks without reason for the last 9 months. Cleaned, coiled at 1.3 ohms, wicked and juiced with manabush Mojave Dessert.
I had 4 really nice puffs, airflow was right, mouth watering flavour at 8 watts. Actually I'm almost instantly converted to the kayfun appreciation club.
I'm impressed enough to open up the Fasttech website to buy another ... and it falls over, rolls off the bloody desk, into my hands, out of my hands, onto my shoe, hits the floor and rolls to the skirting board.
Yes, the currently un-replacable glass breaks and dents the top cap on the thin edge of the tank groove.
Bugger!!
so based on 4 little puffs... the SXK Kayfun V5 is a really nice vape if you like a restricted direct lung inhale or an airy mouth to lung without resorting to a subtank type rba.

OH MY GAWD that's really rum luck sorry to hear. I've had to use a stand for my provari's, as you say, they are prone to being top heavy. Got my squape rs on mine and its a bit of a lightsaber even in 18500 mode but its for indoor use only. I cant see me pulling it out my handbag and not scaring the local populace

That is enough to drive you to drink SteveF . WTF do manufacturers churn out gear with non replaceable parts, in particular glass tanks ? It's absolute bollocks. I've stopped buying tanks that don't come with a spare glass or spare glass sections are not readily available. No matter how good it is, breaking the non replaceable glass makes it as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Pepperty the provari has had a subtank mini on it for months without so much as a wobble. Looks like it rejected the light sabre styling PDQ lol. striker42 I have a couple of Cobras chilling. it comes with a SS spare, which of course you can't see the juice level or the edge of the juice flow. The glass spare is not available as yet but FT will list when it is... Managed to reshape the top cap rim and fit the SS tank. Don't like the look but still a really nice vape.

The authentic probably would, but they're £6.95 a pop

must have had a momentary search block because I've found the full V5 spares package on FT. Wasn't to be found couple of hours ago?? I must need that drink.
$8.70 for 10, ordered a new cap and a couple of insulators on the off-chance that they fit the sxk too.
No mini chimney or glass though.

Glad to see you got it sorted SteveF , as it must be really annoying to have this happen. In the two years I've been vaping, have managed to avoid broken glass tanks so far, only had the odd couple of cracked plastic tanks due to e-liquid.

Likewise I've never cracked a glass tank, unlike my Mrs the clumsy &@",

This was only the third one I've actually broken and have all come from the Provari falling over. This was the first one in a year, unlike one of my friends, she seems to break them quite regularly. With this in mind I bought 20 subtank mini and 20 nano glasses just before Christmas, I think there are 7-8 left. 'still vaping?' ' hmm ..broke the glass again..I don't suppose....'

Sorry to hear about this Steve and hope you get the new tank soon - that's the sort of bad luck that I thought only happened to me.
I also bit the bullet on Tuesday and bought a SXK clone from Provapes, which arrived next day. I had some machine oil in mine, which was still there even after an initial soap wash - I had to dismantle the centre pin in the end and clean that thoroughly as well to totally clear the taste/smell out. First time I've had that on a SXK clone to be fair.
Seriously impressed with the improved build deck - I wish the Mini v3's were like this. Airflow control is genius too. It also seems to wick a lot easier than the Mini v3's and seems pretty much foolproof now - I'm guessing due to the significantly larger juice holes on the build deck.
One thing to note for Pico owners is that it sits very close to the battery cap, so close in fact that I feared it might actually be touching. Not sure if this is a safety concern or not, but I have a high powered battery in there touching a metal cap, so I switched it to another Mod just in case.
Very very happy with it though and some nice little "quality of life" improvements over the Mini v3 in addition to the bigger tank.

I had exactly the same with my old provari. It put me off tube mods forever. Glad to hear you found spares SteveF

For all you tank crackers you could always stick a vape band on the glass, it might not help if you drop it on the floor but has improved things here if mods are accidentally knocked over on a table

Daft question, but would a vape band have saved your glass?
