Perhaps their deficit of $234.4 million had more to do with it than the cig-a-likes they were producing.
Cig-a-likes are good in that they introduce so many people to the benefits of Vaping. The biggest problem with them is that they are not the B-all and End-all that their manufacturers hope they will be and all they really do is show newbies that vaping can work for them and therefore better e-cigs will work even better.
I'm sorry that NJOY has gone as I would be to see any of the big cig-a-like producers. Cig-a-likes are the Bait that first pull in so many of our Vaping Buddies.

Deficit caused by what if not selling poor products? The point is (i.m.o.) that this lot along with all the others insisted cig-a-likes were clearly going to win out in the end with enough BS marketing. I don't mind Njoy compared to E-Lites or Greensmoke but they deserve nothing less. Does anybody remember when they tried to get into the Premium liquid business? Even their staff were vaping on proper mods and tanks. Now, if we could just take out Blu .. I refuse to feel bad.

Cig-a-likes are the Bait that first pull in so many of our Vaping Buddies. I started off with cig-a-likes, but only because there wasnt really much else around at that time (the first ecig shop in swindon had only just opened & i never knew about it) & until I started searching on the internet I didnt really know about spinners & clearo style tanks & even then they were still kinda new. To be honest if cig-a-likes had been the only thing around I would have gone back to the stinkies for sure, infact i did until i managed to go & buy one of the vaping pen type mods, Most people who I see starting to vape now start off with a spinner/pen style ecig, infact i havent seen anyone around here puffing on cig-a-likes for years so im not quite sure how many they do pull into the vaping community now, perhaps one reason why theyve gone under & the fact that theyre put all their eggs in one basket & didnt want to evolve like the other companies in china have, I know alot of them are owned by tobacco companies (not sure about Njoy) but they must have them made in china like all the vast majority is, so being tobacco companies that tried to damage the vaping community & kill off anything but cig-a-likes im quite happy for them to have their fingers burnt...lol

I tend to think that those who are smokers, wouldn't want to spend a lot of money (or even a little) investing in a product that they would not know whether they would like or not.
The only reason I started vaping was because I got a special offer on a set of Skycig Cig-a-likes. £12 for the kit. I then bought some extra batteries and Menthol Cartridges and took to it. Had I been asked to spend anymore for the kit, I probably would not have bothered, but by the time I was buying more kit, I was already saving a fortune over the fags.
By the time I had saved £60 I could afford to buy a decent set up and the rest is history.
Cig-a-like are a cheap way of introducing folks to vaping and therefore no great loss to them if they decide that vaping is not for them. And please remember that back when they were introduced, many folks wanted a product that mimicked a cigarette. These days folks appear to want something that in no way looks like a cigarette.
How fashion changes in such a short time.

Makes you wonder how the other Cig A Like companies are doing. Unlike NJOY most are owned by the BT companies with big profits who can afford the loss as a tax right off. NJOY were a bunch of private investors who thought they could make a mint out of ecigs. The problem is the format. They will be short lived products by consumers as most will progress very quickly to better and more sophisticated equipment. So unlike real cigarettes there is no brand loyalty to generate continuous profits. As the saying goes, adapt to survive. They didn't, they died.

Big tobacco are still making huge profits Jim so can easily afford to write off the losses in their ecig ventures. The loss is costing them nothing as they are offset by a reduction in taxes paid. BT are just as good at avoiding paying tax as the likes of Google/Facebook et al so a few million losses is peanuts to them.
What does surprise me is their continued view that cig a likes are the way forward. They may be arrogant, but even they have eyes and ears, so must be able to see what is happening in the ecig world.

They're relying on governments in future banning all other delivery systems and making them prescription only, thus leaving them the whole market. Our task is to ensure this doesn't happen.
