Tapatalk problem - cant sign in to forum

Anyone else having an issue trying to log in to the forum using tapatalk ??

I don't use it that often, though when I did it always worked okay.

Tried the other day and usually just clicking on the tapatalk icon (Android phone) brings the forum up and i'm already logged in.

Not this time, only showing the tapatalk home page.

I have found the forum on the app again and can browse freely as a guest but when I try to log in it just says "connecting to server ..." with a spinning circle in a pop up box which never seems to even time out or give any errors.

I have tried restarting the phone, clearing the app cache , clearing the app data, and even deleting and reinstalling the app (Version 6.1.5), all with no difference.

The phone did have a big update the other week bringing it up to 6.0.1 Marshmallow and I don't think I've tried tapatalk since then so this might be part of it but just wondering if anyone else is having any issues.

I've moved your thread onto here charliehorse, where it might get picked up a little better by fellow Tapatalk users . . . . can't help personally as on the rare occasions I use a mobile or tablet for the forum, then it's with the standard web format.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can offer their suggestions to help you.

Happens to me sometimes, only on mobile data. On wifi its fine, actually tested when it was happening switched wifi off and lost connection to forum, switched back to wifi loaded up no problems

Thanks Perpetua I wasn't sure where to post.

I can always use the standard web format when i'm not near the laptop if it comes to it but the tapatalk app is quiet handy when you get used to it.

When I noticed it I was at my girlfriends connected to her Wi-Fi but since then I've tried it on my own Wi-Fi as well as mobile data but no joy on any of them.

Usually the simple way is to remove and reinstall, when things are not behaving obliviously that is the most simplistic route but might be worth a shot.

As I said I've already tried all the obvious stuff,

Reboot phone, clear app cache, clear app data, and uninstall and re-install app.

All with the same result unfortunately

I've checked on Probords Support & can't find any recent issues similar to yours.

Yeah, I had a look around the support forum myself and also general Googling - any similar issues people have had seem to be cleared up by deleting cache/data or reinstall, and seeing other people on here are still posting using tapatalk I've got to assume it's due to the android marshmallow update I had the other week and a random setting on my phone that's been altered.

If I figure it out or it rights itself at some point I'll report back.

For now it's no great problem

Well Chrissie it seems I've got it working somehow.
Wish I knew how I did it but I have been altering various settings and permissions without any joy for the last hour now, put them all back the way I think they were set, cleared the app data one last time and it just started working.
I reckon it's pointless trying to work out what's different now so I'll just accept it's working 😎

That's very much my mindset when something that was borked, then works charliehorse!

I refuse to clutter my head up with the if, why's and what's.
