I think in the next month or so we'll see a lot of juice makers bringing out concentrates to get round the F*^&*$G TPD. It will mean survival for many of them.

I'm very interested as to how the prices for concentrates is going to develop too especially as sydsut said it will be the survival for many companies. Do you think one shots are going to leap up in price or will they stay around £8-10 for 30ml?

Do you think one shots are going to leap up in price or will they stay around £8-10 for 30ml? There's no reason for them to as they won't be subjected to the same ( expensive ) testing that premade eliquid is/will be in order to be TPD compliant . . . . bearing in mind that every strength sold of an individual flavour will have to have certification. That adds up to a considerable expense for many companies. If anything, with more Vendors moving to selling their blends in concentrate form - that market could conceivably become more competitive.

Perpetua - Could there be a flip side? Less companies selling juice - more people turn to DIY - increase the price of one-shot concentrates as companies know less pre-made juice will be available and, post-testing, that could get expensive & that vapers will still want their favourite blends? Especially if companies will be relying on concentrates as a main revenue stream? I guess whatever happens the individual flavours like Capella will stay the same price :-)

There could indeed be ghostrider1971 . . . . although I'm one of those people who's glass is half full rather than half empty, so until it actually happens I'll always look on the positive side of a situation. Should that be the case, then it will be up to the individual to decide whether a blend is worth an ' inflated ' price. None of us really know how the TPD will pan out - Vendor's included once they've met the required legalities. I guess whatever happens the individual flavours like Capella will stay the same price :-) And we managed perfectly well pre-oneshot availability and there's no reason why any of us couldn't again. As much as I love the whole convenience of them, they're not essential to creating an enjoyable vape . . . . if anything, having to mix from scratch gives a much better feel and experience of individual flavours, I think.

Do you think one shots are going to leap up in price or will they stay around £8-10 for 30ml? Unless a business can prevent recipes from being cloned then the price of one shot/ concentrates will follow the price trend that can be clearly seen over the last few years in nicotine base. It is very likely due to over supply/chasing more and more market share in order to pay ware house staff wages that the price of flavourings will also drop like a stone. The DIY market is very small and mainly driven by forum members many of whom are very dedicated to searching out and publishing the cheapest price/ how to clone a flavouring. This constant search for clone recipes/ cheapest is best attitude will eventually drive out all the smaller players who hope to remain in the game by selling concentrates after TPD In many cases a single e-liquid flavour represents weeks or even months of development and for a small/micro company it is also their post TPD livelihood.
