Hi guys,
Any help/advice appreciated:
1) Received my concentrates from Bestcigliquid today 2) I have new 100ml bottles (washed out with hot water and dried) 3) New syringe and needle 4) Mixed the concentrate (8%) in to the premixed 80% VG 6mg nicotine base
Result - After shaking, the mix smells of soap and has developed a ring of white "scum" like bubbles around the top of the bottle. They go after shaking again but return when the mix resettles.
Thought it might be the concentrate - mixed another bottle using a different bottle of the same concentrate (Brownstone) - same result :-( Changed the contents of my mix from one bottle to another new bottle - same result :-(
I've been using the premix nicotine base (TMB) all week and it has been fine.
Could it be a dodgy batch of concentrates? As they are NET, does it take time to settle down?
Do they just need a long time in the steep cupboard?
Help, please!

I've no experience of the concentrates that you've used ghostrider1971 . . . . but I say hang tight, don't panic and give them time to settle. An overnight breath might not go amiss. There's several that I do use which react a little differently when mixed, but given time they're fine.

I occasionally get the ring of bubbles (no sniggering at the back). Normally happens when force ejecting the last dregs from a syringe.

I get it a lot mainly due to the fact I use a mini frother but once bottled they settle down nothing to worry about imho

i think you should be ok,maybe its a sweetner in a concentrate? reason i say this is i added some Ethyl Maltol to a few of my mixes before storing them, went to shake them next day and the ring of scum you talk about was in each bottle after a day or so of shaking it vanished, not sure about the soap smell though some of mine smelled chemical?.but they vape ok

yourgurnard - Thank you :-) Now you say that NET gives the 'scum line' I feel better :-) I've had a go on the Captain Jack I mixed at the same time as the Brownstone - VERY palatable :-) I'm gonna have a bash at RY444 and Old Captain tomorrow. I have found with the BCL concentrates that the colour is much lighter and the mix much thicker even at the same 70/30 VG mix that I previously bought pre-made by BCL.... BTW - How long did you steep your mixes for?

TBH; I have n't mixed any BCL for a while....& can't remember if the 'scum line' occurred with 'em:- the above was re. My home-steeped 'baccy! I'll knock some up tonight...I've 'Old Holborn', 'Red USA', 'Maple Rum Tum' & 'Best Cigar'. I only go about 5% tho':- I find commercial concentrates very...er...concentrated for My buds! 'Steep' time? Dunno, sorry but I start vaping 'em the next day! Maybe they get better! Wot about splitting Your mixes?...ie. Half 'to go' & half to 'lay down'?

yourgurnard - I'm the same - waiting for a steep drives me crazy - that's why I've hidden my custards :-) I've also mixed up some Old Captain and vaped it the day after - VERY nice so far. That had the 'scum line' as well I also mixed up some Kreed one-shot baccy last night I've gone from an orange phase to a full on baccy (with pineapple cake chaser...) phase - gotta love vaping variety

I have sometimes got the 'scum' issue as well with various mixes - thought it was dust in the bottles at first, but it went away after a few shakes, so thought no more of it. The only time I've had a soapy taste was when I washed some bottles in the bathroom sink - some perfumed soap must have got mixed in
