Help with tc

Hi I keep getting told to try tc vaping, I have some NiFe 30 (28mm, 29awg) wire, can anyone offer any help on getting a build together & what temperature to have it? I vape mtl normally anywhere between 0.8-1.2ohm (depending on tank) at around 11-15w. Cheers

I normally MTL and dont TC that often, but I go 28/29AWG Ni200 8 wraps around a 3mm bit gets me about .13ohms according to the dna40 chip.
I go around 220C at about 20 watts for MTL or restricted lung hits.
Its on the coolside of a 1ohm build in a mech.

I have only used 0.4 mm 26 AWG NiFe30 myself, if it is StealthVapes Nife30 8 wraps around a 2.5 mm former should be good up to 15 W, if it is not StealtVapes NiFe see the guide I did on SteamEngine and change the wire type, then the res to get the heat flux around 200 here www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?mat=nife30stealth&r=0.275&hfnw=15&awg=29&id=2.5

Temp is personal preference, I would start at 400 - 420 F.

I'm assuming your mod is calibrated for NiFe wire? The resistance factor is different from Ni200 so getting the temp right may be a bit of trial and error and not correspond with the value shown on the screen. You can use it with a Ni profile and just raise the temp about 55 F or 31 C, assuming it's StealtVape NiFe30, but if you can set the TCR (0.005) or even better load a wire profile on a DNA 75 or 200 do so.

Interesting read, Id always presumed (without actually looking it up) nife was the same as Ni200 not half the resistance.

Can you use any off the shelf coils for mtl TC vaping? 
I have a cool fire iv tc-18650 which I'm currently using in wattage mode
with an aspire clearomizer and bvc coil.

You need to use a TC device set up on the corresponding TC mode and the coils need to be either Ni200, SS (Stainless steel) Titanium. Nife 30 and Nife 48.
