Received parcel from China with TPD warning on sticker

I have just received a delivery from Efuntop of 2 Mini V3 Kayfuns and 1 Pico Mod.

On the outside of the parcel is a yellow sticker saying

"Goods not fulfilling the conditions laid down in Article 28 and 29 of the treaty on the functioning of European Union"

I was shocked to see this especially as the V3 minis are 2ml tanks - (leakproof is debatable)

This does not bode well for the future - I have visions of deliveries from China being seized by customs.

I feel the clamp down is going to be very excessive.
After all there is tax to be earned for lining government pockets.
And now relations with China are growing I fear things will go from bad to worse

Those stickers have been on Efun & Gearbest parcels for ages or at least they have been on mine, my first parcel from GB a couple of yrs ago now had one of them.

Article 28
(ex Article 23 TEC)
1. The Union shall comprise a customs union which shall cover all trade in goods and which shall involve the prohibition between Member States of customs duties on imports and exports and of all charges having equivalent effect, and the adoption of a common customs tariff in their relations with third countries.
2. The provisions of Article 30 and of Chapter 3 of this Title shall apply to products originating in Member States and to products coming from third countries which are in free circulation in Member States.
Article 29
(ex Article 24 TEC)
Products coming from a third country shall be considered to be in free circulation in a Member State if the import formalities have been complied with and any customs duties or charges having equivalent effect which are payable have been levied in that Member State, and if they have not benefited from a total or partial drawback of such duties or charges.

I believe these stickers are put on parcels that originate from outside the EU and are routed through one EU country but destined for another - to warn the destination customs not to presume that it's contents had already been checked.

It seems unlikely that UK customs would allow the parcel through at all if they believed it's contents did not comply with our version of the TPD.


(And it doesn't matter what the capacity of an atomiser is or if it's leakproof but whether the item has received 'clearance' that it conforms to the technical requirements following a TPD notification. Theoretically from the end of November, it'll be possible to search the online database to check which products are 'permitted'.)

FT always put electronic accessories on the customs labels so could be anything really.

I've also had the sticker in question applied to my package on a few occasions so wouldn't worry about it. Moving forward, I do fear a customs purge on anything the authorities may believe is vape related. IMO, they will be absolutely beside themselves to publish news of a customs seizure to try and justify the time,money and effort spent on enforcing the bullshit TPD. Talk about getting your priorities arse for tit, this is a fine example. I'm sure the money could be better spent elsewhere.

I'm sorry if I lack sympathy - we all were warned! I've been quite happy with the same tank for over a year. it has it's quirks but still. I have a homeopathic amount of nicotine in my vapes. I am happy with that and have a mini stash in freezer. I also have a mini stash of favourite flavours in fridge

I have bigger things to worry about! - like conspiracies involving world leaders for example!

Whether or not you get a sticker will depend on what option you use for delivery from China. Singapore Post, China Post, Hong Kong Post, Swiss post etc. no Yellow sticker. Sweden Post, Netherland Post, Belgium Post etc. i.e. European Union Members shipping companies will receive a Yellow sticker. IT HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH THE TPD. All this thread is doing is spreading false rumours, getting people into a panic over nothing. I've been getting these stickers occasionally for years now. Still got the package and no additional customs or postage charges.
