On this Remembrance Sunday . . . . a day to pay our respects to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts over the years. To my Uncle Sid . . . who fell on the beaches of Normandy, never to rise again. To my Uncle Eric incarcerated in Changi POW camp. They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
Amen.
And I pray we never have reason for so many to sacrifice so much ever again.

To all soldiers who gave to so much.
And to my amazing grandad who served in the Royal Artillary, survived the horrors of WW2...yet died of a broken heart when my nan passed.
