Music you think is awful but others love

You all have this in your lives. All your mates love and adore a band/singer, but you think they are unadulterated noise/pretentious/unqualified/dull, &etc.

I had a conversation today with a Kasabian idoliser, (they are dross imho) and everyone else agreed that they are fantastic.

So I got to thinking, this is probably common. I have a wide range of musical tastes, but some so called "heroes" are in fact very rubbish.

Here I will begin with Madonna, U2, Kings of Leon....

There are more, but right now I can't get past how shyte those 4 are.

Is it just me?

I agree on U2 and Madge, mind. Each have a couple of songs I quite like, but I dislike the vast majority of their music. A shame as Bono has a cracking voice.



I don't get why the kiddies lose their shizz over Drake. His music does nothing for me. Frank Ocean too. I don't get why the hipsters lose their shizz over him.

The 1975. ****.

Almost all of Kanye's music after his first two albums.

Phil Collins. Meh.

Bob Dylan. Controversial, perhaps, but I can't get over his voice even if I appreciate some of the songwriting.

Actually BrenD, I'm with you on both Dylan(whinge with a monotonous voice) and Presley(great voice, limited talent, forced to sing cr*p songs, ultimate idiot). And Collins should have been drowned at birth!

Kanye is just a total pr**k (how can you name your kid like that!!?), but not heard of Drake. Yet.

I cannot stand whatever it is that emanates from the little jappa car that comes and goes next door driven by the young thing freshly granted a driver's license.

The volume of the "doof doof" we and the rest of the neighbourhood are forced to listen to at all hours of the day or night throu several layers of our brick walls and closed windows that comes out of that car for that long period between when they first turn into our street until they park, linger within for who knows how long until they finally get around to shutting down that damned infernal racket is unbelievable.

Whatever it is, I do not like it.
