Up until now Ive just been putting concentrates in to a premixed base. My vendor would send me PG 70/ VG 30 0.6% nicotine. With the TPD stuff this is no longer available so Im going to have to make my own. From using the Ejuice table I think this is the right measurements for 500ml at 0.3% (TPD means Im going to try and stretch how long it can last, already earmarked a spot in the freezer after xmas lol) Im planning to get 48mg PG base as Ive heard of the Postman not liking the 72mg. Would someone be able to tell me if the above looks about right for the base mix 70PG/30VG at 0.3% ? Also if Im freezing the nicotine, is it important to have it in a glass bottle? Thanks for any help forthcoming

The above looks correct. Remember though that adding flavour will reduce your nic content further down from 0.3% (3mg/ml) Glass is preferable for long term storage.

Flavouring concentrate will also alter the PG/VG ratio one way or the other depending on if it PG or VG based. Most is PG based I believe

Im planning to get 48mg PG base as Ive heard of the Postman not liking the 72mg. Not sure what the source of your information is happyloman, but it's perfectly legal to buy ( and import ) Nicotine Base up to 75mg in strength in the UK . . . . Vendors like Darkstar etc, sell 72mg as that gives a degree of flexibility on the complacency. It's in your best interests and pocket to buy the higher strength as it will go further. Long term storage in glass is believed to delay any degradation in the base - some of mine stored this way, is 6years old and appears to be as fresh as the day it was decanted, without the benefit of any scientific testing that is.

Cheers for info guys:) I saw the thing about Royal Mail not delivering 72mg on a website, a while ago, not sure which one it was. Ive just found darkstar today, they are doing nicotine shots, which will pretty much solve the problem for me Thanks again

happyloman, I do something similar but include 15% "Flavor x" in the calc so that when I add in whatever flavor I want the nic ratio is closer to what i want. If I subsequently add in 10% flavor then it's a tad "stronger" than my normal base, and if I add in 20% it's a tad "weaker" (nic wise)... if it's 15 then it's spot on! I'd rework the base mix to get a more accurate base.

You could always make up the difference in PG (assuming you're using PG based flavouring) Or alter your base to 20% flavouring etc Prior to mixing by weight I kept a base that I could add flavouring to eg: Base 24ml (4 parts) Flavour(s) 6ml (1 part)

I've just found darkstar today, they are doing nicotine shots, which will pretty much solve the problem for me I checked out these little bottles. Fingers crossed this will save us all from the £3.99/£4.99 for 10ml/18mg unflavoured liquid that certain friendly companies are threatening to sell to DIY-ers. I make those £1.60 each and one bottle can make 30ml of 6mg by my reckoning. Happy days.

I can see a lot of advantages to using premix base, but there are still the limitations. Although it may be more "fiddly", I prefer the total freedom of doing my mixes from scratch. That's just me.

Jim I use a lot of ready to go stuff. I use it mostly for small testers. All the big mixes are done from scratch with a calculator.

I've been using the 24mg this way for a while now but with the tpd the max they sell now is 18mg.
