I bought myself a Kanger sub tank as i'd bought coils for it in error and didn't want to waste them and as you know you cant have too many tanks Anyway i was talking to my mate Stevie and told him i had one coming and he said he stopped using his because it leaked. I don't mind as it wont be my main tank and will keep it upright when not in use. We got to talking about RBA coils and i said im gonna buy one for it. He then told me he had one and would give it to me. My tank turned up yesterday and i'm well happy with it , upon opening the box i realised there was a RBA kit inside it. Result . When i got to checking it out i noticed there are no holes in the side to allow the juice through but as i couldn't find my glasses to read the microscopic instructions i put it away for a later date. Stevie turned up at my work today and handed me his kanger tank box , exactly the same as the one i got the day before and he told me there was an RBA and spares in the box but he'd tossed the tank. Once i looked inside i noticed his RBA has holes in the side to allow juice in which threw me. Did the RBA i got which on first appearance looks the same come out the factory wrong or is there some magic way the juice gets inside to the cotton? My one twists apart top and bottom , his one has a screw on the outside. I really cant get my head around it. Can anyone throw some light on it and if so which one is best? Thanks in advance. Mark

For MTL V1 is the best with the holes at the base, far easier to set up/wick kind of like a kay fun. Most clone V1 RBAs need the channels filing out tho. V2 with the holes in the side is best for DTL and wicks like a champ, bit more fiddly to set up tho.

Yep the one without the holes is the V1 version and for my money it's the better one. If you look closely you will see there are two very tiny channels where the barrel section meets the base.

But rba's can be wicked properly and give no leaks. Just check out youtube revoews to nail each rba. The v2 was made apparently to allow the user to vape at higher wattages due to it in theory allowing better wicking.

I have both.
Most of the time, the V2s don't work reliably in my early subtanks. The base pin is too short for the early bases.... arrggh......
The V2 is the one for more power, the other is less leaky i.m.o.
I would use the V2 permanently were it not for the annoying issue.

The base pin is too short for the early bases I've only got V2s, but found this problem on a couple of them. I solved it by putting a 0.010" shim between the center post and the insulator. Jim

Stomper Checkout the link in my sig to see how to set up the V1 RBA. Whilst you must keep the wick clear of the juice channels on the V1 on the V2 you need to cover the holes with the wick.
