You don't have to be there when its put up and taken down. The cost is around £900 with tables and chairs and floor.
Just make sure ukric knows you want/need electric hookup

Hopefully I'll be there this year. I've got my dad's campervan booked so its just working out when I've got my eldest son. If it all works out then I'll be there from sometime Saturday morning till whatever time I can be bothered to drive home Sunday (or feel well enough).
Shame Roscopecotrain and @spikeyfridge won't be there though

Is anyone taking on the AAEC marquee this year? Does anyone feel they can step up to Spikey's legacy?

Saw your post on the 'attending' thread ukric, so I'll reply as best as can

The past years, the marquee has been dealt with by Spikey/myself and I won't be there this year and from what I've seen neither will Sarah.

If anyone wants to deal with it - I can help from a distance with contacts/cash/whatever - otherwise it would be a no from the forum I guess.

Best do a 'do we need/want a marquee?' thread and see what majority think. Maybe a smaller one?

In past VF's I have appreciated the facility afforded to us as AAEC members.
My only comment would be perhaps a slightly smaller one would serve our needs just as well.

Dead easy, raise the funds, there's a marquee company in place for ordering from. Just a case of organising it.

I did appreciate the use of the marquee last year and it would be nice if the facility was available again this VF. Collecting the funding might be a problem at this stage, but no problem here pitching in if we're going ahead with it.

Another glitch is that the last two years we've borrowed dave's tea urn, has he said he's coming?

and a community tent is a bit defunct without a cuppa! If we decide against it then Jon VapingBad does have a big awning over in the camping section where AAeC tend to gather so we would still have a central point that the forum banner could be roped to it....
