DiscoDes . . . . please don't give it another thought, I'd half expected it if I'm honest with your change of job and it possibly not having the same degree of flexibility.

I can only thank you from the bottom of this old heart of mine, for all the years that you have so willingly chauffeured me to the various venues that the event has been held at. And of course, your personal bodyguard services, which I've soooooooooooo needed when I've been the worse for wear.

A touch saddened to hear you'll be missing from the event this year with the lighty up beer glass DiscoDes, but fully appreciate your decision. Surely we'll catch up another time. Enjoy your family time Des. 
As a few familiar faces will be missing, I'm hopeful that we will be able to meet some new friends over the course of the weekend.

In the absence of DiscoDes, a vacancy has arisen for a part time carer/chaperone on the 4th & 5th August 2017. Duties are wide and varied. For further details contact Perpetua or striker42.

All those who can't make it this year will be greatly missed.

I am gonna get hold of a tenting ticket in the coming week and worry about travel plans closer to the event.

I also plan to get a new tent this year (the old 'un has lasted 15 years but the nylon is starting to degrade).

I'm sure those that make it will just learn to make do and drink to those that cannae !

This will be my third Vapefest since I started vaping. The first I had to cancel because of a family situation. The second similar, so this time I have already booked the time off work and only one parent remains, so I am determined to make it before I stop vaping. I already have my beer brewing plans, and a keg of porter or stout is on the cards. Got to have some real ale to drown stella.  It will be good to put some faces to names.

I would step in, but it's all but impossible for me to get there for it to be put up and stick around for it to be taken down.

Having been so successful the last two years, I think it's important we do it again, if at all possible. We've all had our money's worth in previous years, right?

Did someone from another forum suggest, last year, the idea of combining/sharing a marquee? Can't remember who was there at the time, or if it is something that you would want?

I wasn't around for that conversation, but if we can't get anyone to organise it or enough donations to cover the cost of one ourselves, sharing makes sense. As long as we can contribute towards it, all is good.

Now who remembers the conversation..?

Doesn't sound likely, Toby (MadScientist) was a nice guy and helped us with getting the power hooked up on Friday, but they paid for it out of forum income IIRC, no sense of it being a struggle to pay for it at any rate.
