(NB - This HIC recipe is available "free" via a Google search for "HIC Irish lass") I've tried mixing the "Irish lass" recipe by HIC. It uses 3 FA flavours recommended at 1%. The recipe further advises for a "strong flavour" up it to 2% The recipe is supposed to be a shake and vape and better after a day. I've tried both strengths, shake and vape and leaving it for a day and to be honest the mix doesn't really taste of anything. I've also mixed it at 65 VG and 70 PG. I guess my question is (finally... ) are FA flavours as strong as they are reported to be? Should I pep up the % a bit more?

I only wished I could get on with FA concentrates they disagree with me, not sure why but they do, even Dinner Lady Lemon Tart I can only vape a little of it at a time.

Yea I've heard over the years what a master mixer HIC is and yes he's probably very good, but when I look at his recipes they don't really make me want to make them for some reason. Just nothing stands out for my tastes

I guess my question is (finally... ) are FA flavours as strong as they are reported to be? For me, no - of the ones I've tried . . . . . but that goes without saying really! Last time I mixed Vienna Cream as a standalone, back in my early days of mixing - I went in at 20%. It wasn't overly strong either . . . . .

HIC recipes are all low on the % side (thats how he/she says they prefer to mix). If you find one you like it's a good idea to make a bottle of flavour base/one shot and then you can make at a strength to suit you whilst keeping the ratio of ingredients as intended. I used to do this with HIC's cocoa cookie recipe I do find most FA conc's are much stronger than FW/TFA, but not all of them (e.g FA Honey is a brilliant conc to use in cereal mixes but I have a bottle mixed at 10% dilution which I use in place of the actual conc, and even then don't add any higher than 1.5%. It really is that strong and can ruin the whole mix easily! Whereas FA Choc, which is my favourite chocolate conc, I'll use up to 8-10%. All subjective though )

I love Many of FAs flavours and usually mix them at 4% as a standalone, whereas with other brands I often start at 10%, however, I find the same as spacey , some flavours like honey are weaker, and as for walnut, it's almost tasteless. They do have some spectacular fails, as well, I find their Cappucino is nothing like and their espresso tastes like coconut. Different strokes for different folks, though!

I ended up condemning both my 70 PG and 70 VG mixes down the sink yesterday for Irish Lass. They were supposed to be "shake and vape" and "improve after 3 days" - after 2 weeks both were totally tasteless
