I can't help, as I don't use sweetener, but it might be worth listing which sweeteners that she's tried (or their main sweetening ingredient) River .

TBH Canderel is about the best i have found. It took me quite a while to get used to sweetener as your taste buds are used to sugar, but now its the other way round if i have anything with a lot if any sugar in it tastes strange.

Canderel, sweetex, morrisons own brand, silver spoon.several stevia ones.....to name a few.She says they leave a funny taste in her mouth,i have tried them and have to agree (standard) Canderel “It is produced using a blend of ingredients, but its main sweetening ingredient is aspartame.
Canderel is currently the UK's most popular sweetener, followed by Sweetex.” www.diabetes.co.uk/------------------------------ Sweetex The main ingredient of Sweetex is sodium saccharin
------------------------------ Silverspoon sweetener An Aspartame and Acesulfame-K based Table Top Sweetener. ------------------------------ Morrisons own brand sweetener Sodium Saccharin
----------------------------- Maybe try a sucralose type sweetener too? I can't see one listed above, although you do say "to name but a few", so maybe she has. Although I see it listed as best for cooking/baking (one such product is "Canderel Yellow". It may be a matter of finding the best out of what she's tried and then try to get used to it? I guess nothing will be totally identical to sugar, but with time it may become the norm.

Tesco have a Sucralose based sweetener River . . . . granulated and in tablet form: www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=289397127I've tried it, it's ok - nothing special, so I've gone back to using Sweetex . . . . . having used sweeteners in my coffee since Eve was a girl, I find they all leave some aftertaste. Which you do kinda of get used to. There's almost a case for weaning yourself off sweetened drinks, often I don't bother now. ( If you've any sweetener that you use for DIY, that could also be worth trying! )

Damn, really must learn not to jump in too quickly. Thought this might be about something to sweeten the wife up.

I like Splenda the best, or the Tesco own brand yellow one. Uses sucralose so more natural
