I've come up with a problem, I can't get a decent vape from my Aeronauts. Now the question could be.. can three solid atomisers go wrong within weeks? So flavour and vapour production dropped off, cue new wicks, new coils, the usual culprits. the fix was short term. So I stripped them down, put them in the cleaner, fitted new seals (the afc o-rings are not easy) and one by one they came back to form. But it seemed to only be a short term fix and performance dropped off after less than a week.
Kind of ruled out mods, I had two on Tesla V3s, 0.3 ohms, running roughly 4.3v/60w/14amps with new vtc5s. The third was on a DNA200 also running at around 60w for similar performance on vtc5s from the same box. But yes the Teslas seem to be suffering the worst performance even with freshly charged cells. Got some sag going on? Aromamiser vapes a treat though, basically the same resistance with a similar metal mass.
VCT5s are going great, rolo is giving good life, dna75 is too. VC2, VC2+ and VC4 all show similar initial discharge levels and where applicable show similar mah returning to full charge. And so far (hopefully) besides sag? I have not thrashed the batteries below a standing 3.7, no low battery warning,
Or its me? Same juices, same parallel nichrome claptraps but for some reason I'm struggling with too much airflow from everything.
Answers if you have any....

just received some new 510 pin insulators, the old ones are shot, couldn't be bothered to recoil after fitting them so I'll try a typical build tomorrow. Also opened a fresh pack of cotton bacon and found a sealed geekvape koh gen do in the drawer. Fingers crossed

a definite improvement with the new 510 insulators, but it is after another full strip down and rebuild. Hopefully something as simple as replacing a ragged insulator will make all the difference.

lol, that the problem jtc, I've tried to cover all of the bases before asking ( well now I that have replaced the insulators) and for whatever reason the performance simply dropped off one by one. The only other thing that it may be is the 510 pins although the threads are good, I feel that its a connectivity issue. I hope not because Mr Aeronaut doesn't carry any spares as it would appear that production is outsourced. Anyways...I'm thinking of converting one to BF, I reckon the Lost Vape Drone should be good for a few blasts at 60w when they hit the shelves.

It's strange how they've all gone at the same time though

Tried cleaning the 510 pin and 510 threads on your Mod? I give my bit's (of Vape gear) a wipe over with some alcohol, battery terminals and battery connections in my mods as well. This is habit for me, a hangover from Mechs needing cleaning for maximum connectivity.

It's strange how they've all gone at the same time though I know, that is what sparked the 'is it me?' flavour is one thing, but poor vapour from juggernauts and 26g wrapped in 32g/39g micro Clapton? keepitgoin I regularly clean the 510s with cotton buds and alcohol, one of the first things that I do. Not a mech user but I learnt from my P3 that you can lose 10%-15% from a dirty 510 and tube threads.

Possible your PG/VG ratio changed?? Batteries on their way out (if you cycle them regularly then all should begin to fail at a similar number of cycles)? There are a number of suppliers offering 510 pins (fatdaddy, fasttech, Modmaker etc.) so you may be able to find replacement 510's? Insulators on the deck may be failing? Insulative properties in materials such as Plastic, are not eternal, and soaking them in e-liquid a lot of the time must have some effect?

no seriously, I had some new ones sent from Aeronaut and one had been cut at an angle. With a new one to make a comparison to, another quick search through the spares and duds box came up with a couple of duff Subtank bases and almost identical insulators. Makes me think that there may be a heat issue in the internal threads of the 510 pin?
maybe just a lot of heat transfer from squeezing chunky coils for 12 months.

I'd imagine these are "service parts" kinda like spark plugs used to be in older petrol engines. They have a lifetime of xxxx Watts passing them, then they degrade too much to be useful. Good on you for finding a work around from other Vape bits!

I don't think they are service items, I cannot find spare ST pin insulators anywhere . And you certainly don't get them in the spares or airflow packages. Tbh the main atomiser O-rings expanded and lost shape ages ago, no reason why the 510 rubber should be any different as it is permanently in contact with the juice.
I have some magister? peek insulators on the way, they should fit and hopefully it will simply be a case of a few mm of hi-temp silicone insulation for the top of the pin.
