ukulelegirl22 Welcome to the forum I'm still a new enough vaper to remember absolutely what it's like being new to all this stuff. In fact an awful lot of the threads on here are still gobbledegook to me (too many initials and numbers, I've no idea what they're talking about!). So - I'm going to offer some advice that a lot of members will probably hold up their hands in horror at, but here goes: First, the joyetech egoAIO looks fine but I watched the video and it all got a bit too techie for me. Replacing coils? For an out and out beginner? It may be called a starter kit but I wouldn't have been happy starting with it. Too fiddly. Also, you'd need 2 of them. That makes it a bit expensive. Why 2? Because what are you going to do when your battery needs charging? Reach for the B&H probably, which defeats the object of the exercise. I'm assuming that as an out and out beginner, like I was a few short weeks ago, you want something simple that you can just pick up and vape on and feel like you're having a smoke of tobacco. No messing around, no switches, no lights that change colour, no coils to change - just something to suck on and vape! If I'm right in my assumption then I would suggest you go to ecigarettedirect.co.uk, go to their e-cig kits and bundles page and get yourself the Halo Cigalike Bundle. (Ok, guys, I know, I know, so many people say to stay away from cigalikes, but honestly, these are great and I still use them as my instant goto fix.) These are way way nicer than the all in one disposable cigalikes you can get in supermarkets, garages and suchlike which are, as a lot of people point out, horrid! With the Halo ones you get 2 batteries, a charger and 5 cartridges. Just make sure to have your 2nd battery charged up and ready to go, so you can still vape while your first one is recharging. The cartridges are supposed to be disposable. But don't chuck 'em because you can refill them easy peasy (You Tube has videos) and that way the cartridges last for ages (I'm still refilling mine from January). I'd suggest 1.2% strength tobacco flavour, and while you're there get a bottle of the Halo Classic Virginia e-liquid so you can refill. This is the closest thing you'll get to a B&H smoke. Even easier than smoking because you don't even have to light it. And when you're done, just pop it in your pocket or handbag for the next time. It's slightly longer than a king size cig but still small enough to be convenient and unobtrusive. Those are the baby steps. By the time your cartridges start to give out you'll know whether vaping is for you or not (I do hope so!) and will probably be feeling a bit more adventurous. Then you can come back here for help from the fab people on this forum who will hold your hand through the toddler stage (sort of where I am now) and eventually into the wonderful world of mods and tanks and all sorts of exciting things that I'm just beginning to discover. Apologies if that's all too basic. It's just that I personally found that a 'starter kit' was a bit too scary for me. I needed a pre-starter kit! And I'm certainly not dissing advice you've already been given, cos the people on this forum are really helpful, supportive, friendly and knowledgeable, and so willing to share. Anyway, hope that helps. Just my two penn'orth from a total beginner's perspective.

The trouble with Cig-a-like kits is the ongoing expense and the absolutely punishing charging routine, which leads you into buying more batteries, more wall adapters and charging cases.... it's a never-ending nightmare. The batteries (which are usually around £7.99) are really £2 batteries. The cartomizers go soggy eventually and you have to buy more. Everything in this sector of the market is about maximum profit regardless of efficacy. I spent £600 on cig-a-likes and was still smoking. First E-Lites and then JacVapour. JacVapour sell the same as Halo (KR808 thread batteries) Then I found out the big brands sell the same as everyone else, only charge much more. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/34428/review-myepack-power-pcc-starter

I think DJS is right. There is only one small device I know of which is a reasonable price and that's the SSD key ring from Cavecom Unless a new vaper is starting on a highish Watt device I think starting with 18 or 20 mg/ml eliquid is a good idea, lets you know that ecigs can provide a nicotine hit. I find the AIO (all in one) too hot, the holes in the coil head are too small. But it is child's play to use. If it had variable Watts then it would make good first timer's device.
