Eleaf GS Air help, please :)

Evening each,

Received my new GS (M) Air - and very nice it looks too

Primed the coil included with the tank (1.5ohm) - never got above 8 watts and getting constant burnt taste....thought "OK, included coil - probably a duff 'un so ditch it".

Moved on to the 1.20ohm coils I bought from FT. Primed. Loaded up with 70 VG "Froops" cereal juice by Breakfast Club.

Lots of pretty clouds (13.5w) and absolutely no flavour

If anyone could share their recommendations for PG/VG ratio and wattage settings for this tank, I would be much obliged (Or if there are another secret techniques I am missing!)

with a burnt taste at 8w I'd say that the coil needs more priming time, could just be the factory cotton taking a long time to absorb the juice fully.
What ratio juice were you using on the first coil?

SteveF - I used a 50/50 on the first coil.

With the "new" 1.2ohm I've changed the juice to a strongish tobacco and moved the watts up to 16.5w - taste is absolutely nada still

Definitely allow plenty of time for priming, even with the 1.5 ohm coils (which are BDC).
I found it had poor flavour due to too much airflow. Either fit the silicone airflow ring (which ruins the look, imo) or use a bit of carefully cut sellotape to block off half of the airflow.
I use recoiled heads at 1.8 Ohm and around 5.0W on an iStick gives me a pleasant and flavourful MTL vape.

I normally give any new coil up to an hour to become fully saturated with eliquid ghostrider1971 . . . . overkill perhaps, but I don't suffer from burnt hits doing this.

When I use mine I leave them a good few hours as that cotton is really tightly packed and then some slow primer puffs as well, they are not the best for subtle flavour I have found but ok for stronger ones, I don't go above 10w with mine and my mixes are 40pg/60

Still absolutely no flavour - this is with bestcigliquid "Old Captain" which is a strong flavour....

Vape disappointed...again...maybe I should try another new coil with Lucky Sh1t in it......

I found that I had to put the new coil through the sonic cleaner to loosen the cotton before it was usable but I use the Ni coils. Once this was done they last for a couple of months.

Hello ghostrider1971, just going to ask now, i take it you are 'breaking in' new coils?
I cannot think of anything else that could be causing a burny taste.

Now I am concerned...... especially as ft have shipped mine over the weekend

Did you wash the tank out before use? I've often found residue from manufacturing can make everything taste off on a new tank, just a thought....

Hmm I really can't see what is going wrong as although I don't use them as much now I did use them for a good while, as I said they aren't the best for subtle flavours but they are fine for me with stronger flavours. Had one in the rack until Friday just gone with Powwow sauce in it on a 1.2 coil, the flavour was no where as good as my re-wicked Ego one tanks but it was still there and the tank had been sitting there for a good few wks with it in so the coil was probably on it's way out anyway to be fair.

In fact I've got one of those coils in an Eleaf iJust One 1100mAh at the moment with DIY Rhubarb n Custard and the flavour if anything is too strong. However I also had one of the same coils in the MS (shorty) version of what you had with GetVape Scones n Cream (freebie!) & couldn't taste a bliddy thing I must admit and was surprised as the liquid is raved about

It may well be a duff batch of coils you have, I wonder if I had the same at some point hence the difference in the iJust & the MS Shorty *ponders*

I think you'll be ok GunJack . . . . just give the new coils plenty of time to soak before using.

There's several new vapers I know who have bought a GS M Air ( TW rebranded ) from the local vape shop and they're doing absolutely fine with it.

GunJack Perpetua - It was just the vaping bad luck of the Ghostrider again

Gunjack - quick hijack - Have tried the Inawera RY4 (month is up today) - whilst the flavour isn't super strong yet - it has a lovely smokey taste and the throat hit is very cigarette like - it isn't vanilla or caramel like I expected - a very pleasant vape. Thank you again for the rec

I have to admit, as much as I really like these little atomizer heads they are quite disappointing initially.
They seem to settle (for me) after 1/2 a tank.
