I like that slightly chilled taste you get in some juices (notably for me FA Lemon Iced Tea and H2OMG). I tried reproducing it with TFA Koolada (which I believe is Menthyl methyl lactate @ 10% solution), first at 2% (ugh!), then 1% then .5% and finaly .25%- all too strong for me. I was giving up on it before adding 50% PG to it (ie making it into a 5% solution), and am now finding it pretty good at .25%, I have it in a Root Beer and it really enhances the flavour. I know some swear by menthol but I want the cooling without the flavour, does anyone else go for Koolada, and are some of the other makes of cooler made from a different chemical?

I've just clanked 1 percent into some juice and it's killed it bleurghhhh going to do as you've suggested and try it in something else. One drop should do it.

Koolada and that ' cooled ' effect aren't really my thing beedee . . . . but have you tried this: www.chefsflavours.co.uk/additives/5091-ws-23.html

Thanks Perpetua and jtc. It seems the WS 23 is a great alternative - a fact sheet on the chemical is Here. You can also get it in crystal form, HereLooks like 20gm of the crystals would make 100gm of liquid, so that's good value! I wonder if polar blast is made of the same stuff.

Polar Blast is no where near as strong as WS23 IMO Oooh I've just chucked an order in for polar blast as the ws23 looked like a derivative of koolada which always left a funky taste. Never got along with koolada so I mighta made the right choice.

Just received the polar blast. Huge thanks for the heads up on this jtc and tcg69 added some into the lemonade from getvape and it's brought it to life without the horrible aftertaste of koolada. Tested a drip first and it numbed me gob used 1 percent but I might up it to 1.5 as I like a frozen kisser hah
