Hi all - for the past couple of years I've been using the uncoil from virtual vape but might now need to look for an alternative as there aren't many left in stock...
Can anyone on here suggest a similar robust coil that is easy to rewick and doesn't burn easily?
Thanks in advance
Cammy

So is it the unicoil you use for protanks, is it the rewickable coils that you cant get hold of easy or are you thinking about changing tanks completely Cammy ? We have had a member here who redoes protank coils cheap but I'm not sure who it is/was. If you are looking for a change of tank and coil then the isub range are fairly easy to rewick and get more life from one coil. They are built in a similar but larger version of protanks but they can be leaky if the wick isnt fluffed out well. I personally feel that if you can rewick protank coils then you'd be fine with something single coil rebuild using ready made wires. the subtank is very easy to make up as the wire ends just trap in a groove (no messing about wrapping around a post) plus there stock coils can be rewicked if you carefully pull out the manky one and dry burn I also find the wotofo serpents to be very easy to build, they dont take stock coils, only having a rebuildable deck - but they are very very easy to do.

I use the uncoil in my Kanger airflow tanks. I like them because they can handle a lot of heat without burning the wick - something I've had problems with in the past and also the fact that once the wick is done, I just pull out the old cotton, dry burn the coil and clean it, then roll up a new bit of cotton and thread it through the coil.
For me that's a lot easier that re-coiling as I've tried that in the past with various other coils and wire and Its too much of a pita. I like the fact I can use the same coil and it's (quite) simple to thread the new wick through it.
Is the isub range the answer for me then?
Thanks

Isub coils are very easy to rewick there is a video around here somewhere, Perpetua will most likely be the one to ask about it.

Hi thanks for the replies - I've had a look at the ISub coil - seems that I'd need to change my tank to use it tho - i don't think it would be compatible with a Kanger/Protank style that I use. I'm not adverse to changing the tank if I can find a coil that will perform and is not difficult to rewick with cotton.
I don't tend to subOhm vape - I like my coils about 1.4-1.7 and usually ramp my iStick up to around 13W.

Cammy, send your used unicoil heads to me and I'll re coil and wick them for you. I don't charge, just ask for return postage. PM me if interested.

Isub coils are very easy to rewick there is a video around here somewhere, Perpetua will most likely be the one to ask about it. Here you go joeten , Cammy . . . . Even a coiling dufass like me can get to grips with this and manage it successfully! I've probably done some of mine at least 8 times now . . . . they do eventually give up though and tend to not last quite as long inbetween re-wicks - but despite that, you certainly get your money's worth. Doesn't work on the higher ohm heads as the wire is thinner - but on the 0.5ohms, it's a doddle. Plus they're pretty reasonable on FT if you need to replace in time: www.fasttech.com/product/4206805I don't tend to subOhm vape - I like my coils about 1.4-1.7 and usually ramp my iStick up to around 13W. Ignore all my ^^^^ waffleage in that case Cammy.

I've noticed the newer isub coils have been made in such a way that you can't break them apart to rebuild. Bit of a bummer really. I got an isub V for my missus and it came with some temp control coils and they were no go to break into. Plus that tank leaked like a sieve for some reason, has been retired for now.
