<<<have a good friend who suffered a stroke three years ago, and he's 100% again now, os just be patient >>> Aha, so there is hope for me yet????? SMIBO has hid my garden fork so no escape in that direction. So I guess it is grooming day. Oh the joys!!!! At least it is dry and I can get out to the garden and have a puff on the deckchair when the fancy takes me. Coll likes to sit on my knee while he surveys his world to make sure no Ostriches has sneaked in whilst he was not looking. Knowing that there will be things that I cannot do for some time, this will allow me to concentrate my time on jobs that I can manage, given time to do them. Like 4 hours to do a half hour job!!!! Even that could be hit or hit some times! Anyways, the sun is warming nicely and it will soon be time for the Tartan Bikinis.

At odds times during the day I can get all my words out with few missed letters and then at other times I may as well give up and forget to talk altogether. I seem go through peeks and troughs of being able to communicate and then being silence.
Hopefully the silence will recede and I will become more communicative but one very knows with this illness.
I had two sessions today talking to people with others, but with silenced in between where I was exhausted with the efforts of any conversations.
Just sitting, scratching the dog's ear, is more than enough communication for the both of us some times.

lobeydosser the silences are to be enjoyed :-)) Take the time to relax. You don't realise till you've had a stroke how exhausting simple things can be. I can't cope with bright light or loud noise, I sit around all day in my sunglasses. People around you get used to the little quirks (most are temporary) and they are very forgiving. Laugh with them, enjoy your new found quirkiness!! Wish I had the energy to get out in my garden....the front is beginning to resemble a jungle. I did get a load of wood from a friend so I'm going to spend the next while making potting benches and dog beds lol

Yes, I am beginning to enjoy my new found likeness for the pleasure of being on my own.
Garden wise, that is a bit of a building site at the moment with the patio half finish and beds half built, but as I cannot drive for another month, there is plenty of time to get on with that, once I feel up to it.
I am a bit of a fair weather gardener and not for me is muddy wellies or rain coats. Indeed I spend a great deal sitting at my shed door, looking out over the garden, whilst vaping away at the bench watched the rain pelting down.
I had great plans for all my schemes that I was going to complete this summer, but as long as I complete just the one, then that will be enough and the rest can wait for another year.

[ Totally agree with you lobeydosser I'm the same, had plans for new fencing and paving but 5 months down the line I'm still exhausted (pushed myself to fast and suffering for it now) I will potter and spend a few months sitting out in my back garden enjoying the ☀️🌥❄️🌦 It is Scotland after all :-)

It's only been a couple of weeks since I stepped back a little from here, and I look in, and lobeydosser you go and pull a stunt like this You do realise you are totally out of order, and are supposed to be 'pottering' about in your garden, didn't you read the instructions from B&Q Have read the entire thread a few times now, and it certainly appears that you are making rapid progress, speech wise, but what a wake up call to us all. I think they slipped something into your 'home delivered' meals, you were OK until then! Seriously, please look after yourself and Mrs Lobey, the garden can wait... mine has been waiting for years... every best wish to you Don't think I'll look again for a while.

I am building a design within the centre of the garden and the centre piece is a Rose that consists of 29 concrete shapes that will form the central designs. I have constructed 11 so far and "only" 18 slabs to do. The stroke has put everything in hold for the moment, but I am hoping to return my cement soon. Especially with all this good weather on offer.
I had a mate over for the afternoon. A fellow vaper, but he did talk for Africa and he was quite tiring. Whilst it was nice to see him, I was pleased when he went away and left me in peace.
I am changed day on day and although the changes are small, I can notice this change in my ability to do more. Still a long way to go, but at least on the road ahead.

Thanks RafflesI can only write one note a night or the rest becomes too much of a strain. Garden wise and "funny meals" have been left on the wayside. Too much of a hassle and the meals themselves were not getting delivered with the accuracy that they were ordered. We were losing out on several ordered and paid for, but not delivered. I could stand the loss while I could keep a semblance of orders but once I took ill, well everything went tits up and I lost my lists. Life I very simple now. The simpler, the better. Thanks jtc I do intend to take it life easy. At least until I get instructions from the Speech Therapies people as to what my next step will be.

A quite day yesterday, but got tore in today and got 7 slabs laid. Okay, a bit more than I should and I was extremity knackered after I did it, but it did feel good to get that amount done. Just 11 more slabs to laid. The trouble is that the more I work, the less I am able to speak. Okay so I am working and getting all right, but SWMBO cannot understand a singled word I am uttering! There could be good and bad side's in that. Anyways, I will have a quiet day tomorrow. I have run out of cement anyway and the dog does a clipping.
