That was my thought about getting rid (sale prices) of coils for the old tanks as well - kind of scare folk into thinking coils were TPD items.

Nothing to with the coils being TPD its to do with the packaging having the correct warning that this product contains Nicotine, the coils sold off were the old style packaging with out the warning.

Surely you mean the incorrect warning because as they come they don't contain nicotine

Product requirements

36.—(1) No person may produce or supply an electronic cigarette or refill container unless it complies with paragraphs (2) to (8), so far as relevant to the product concerned.

(2) Nicotine-containing liquid which is presented for retail sale must be in—

(a)a dedicated refill container in a volume not exceeding 10 millilitres; or

(b)a disposable electronic cigarette, a single use cartridge, or a tank, in a volume not exceeding 2 millilitres.

(3) The capacity of the tank of a refillable electronic cigarette must not exceed 2 millilitres.

(4) Be packaged with a regulation illuminated warning bobble hat that meets BS EN 471.

Both my packets are now officially TPD items, but I don't expect them to carry the TPD label, so I may as well wander down the Police station and hand myself in.

I mean, for sure, they definitely contain Nicotine (not) and I am an evil criminal (maybe), so may as well face the music right now and get it done with.

A stupid and incorrect warning label that boils my blood. Even with the afterthought additional clarification that it only applies once filled! Name any atomiser/coil unit that is sold containing nicotine!   stupid! stupid ....STUPID!!!

This is true. However it gives us a way of saying up yours to the tpd. So that to me makes it worth it.
