Truly, so far these ' premium ' eliquids have largely been most disappointing . . . . there's only been a small number I haven't tweaked in some way to make them enjoyable for my tastes.

( Had I paid full price for them I'd have been gutted. )

Don't *think* that I'm especially picky, perhaps my bench mark is higher, having survived quite happily on home brew for years.

Yes I think you're right. The best thing I ever did in vaping is start DIY I reckon. It's just so easy to tweak to taste. I just upped my kk to 20% to give it a boost and thought to myself how lucky I am this is possible 🤗👍😊

Becoming PG sensitive, although a bind at the time, gave me the necessary impetus to fully embrace DIY - even though readily available supplies were scarce, it was still possible and taught me much about individual flavours

And, even if you're not into recipe creation yourself or want to follow one from scratch  . . . . . there's such a terrific selection of one shots available now, it's very possible to make ' premium ' eliquid to suit your tastes, minus the price tag.

I must admit that of all the Pre-TPD juices I bought, that on the whole the American made juices have been the best. Saying that though nearly all the juices could do with a boost in concentrates. Lots of nice flavours but oh so weak!!. That's where DIY definitely comes into it's own.

Fried Cream Cakes by Liquid EFX

They say ; Inspired by the delicious fairground snack, Fried Cream Cakes eliquid by Liquid EFX is comprised of a creamy Vanilla filling surrounded by fluffy yellow Sponge Cake, which is then fried to perfection and dusted with the subtlest hint of powdered sugar. An indulgent tasty treat.

I say ; Not too bad but the 'subtlest hint of powdered sugar' is more like a healthy dose of artificial sacharin style sweetner that can make this taste a bit funny after a prolonged bout of vaping it (to my taste anyway). It's a bit of a coil gunker as well most likely due to this.
Otherwise its okay - nice cakey vanilla type taste - about a 6 out of 10 for me

I say: On the face of it, not really my type of flavour . . . . however it's a really nice vape for my tastes. I mainly get a mandarin/tangerine flavour first with very subtle hints of berries and cola rounded off with a light, fresh menthol/mint note which stays nicely in the mouth. If you like Heisenberg/Red Astaire/Clara-T then you would probably enjoy this blend also.

I'd give it 7 out of 10 . . . . which is quite high for me!

I'm on Miami drip club - little havana, again I wasn't looking forward to biscuit tobacco cinnamon combo but it's rather lovely and I wish I'd got more! I think BrenD likes this one too

Lemon Tart

I say: I did actually try this a while back as a Member on here was kind enough to send me a sample . . . . I enjoyed it then, as I am now and can't really add anything to the rave reviews this has already got. Other than to say it does also smell absolutely delicious - although I still wouldn't pay full price, especially as there are a few ' clones ' knocking about that also work for my tastes and purse.

Strawberry Custard

They say: Natural strawberry is balanced against sweet, creamy custard and butter-caramel. A refreshingly different strawberry vape that will leave Mother’s Milk gathering dust on your shelf.

I say: It's very nice and certainly works for me as an enjoyable vape  - although I wouldn't call it a Strawberry Custard, more a Cream and certainly don't get any hint of Caramel. There's a plethora of Strawberry Custard recipes on ELR or pick your favourite Vanilla Custard one and layer in a couple of strawberry flavours - one ought to be Inawera's Shisha version as it's great in my humble. It's quite possible to create something equally as enjoyable.

Rice Pudding

They say: Cooked to perfection. Velvety, sweet creamy rice pudding, with a tasty dollop of raspberry jam stirred through to finish. What’s not to love?

I say: At first this was one of those bland, nondescript and quite forgettable flavours to me . . . . it has grown on me a little, but not massively so. The raspberry I barely get and overall the blend is just lacking in taste for me.

Cornflake Tart

They say: A true taste of the old-school! Cornflake and syrup tart with a punchy layer of strawberry jam running through. The only thing missing is the crunch.

I say: Again lacking in flavour for me . . . . . and I wouldn't have known there was any strawberry in it, unless I'd read the description. Overall underwhelming.

Ella has a very nice recipe or oneshot - personally I'd stick to that and just add a jammyesque fruit of your choice.

I say: Really.

Perhaps the strawberry had peaked off being generous, there certainly was a complete absence of it in my bottle! Chocolate is pleasant enough, so in no time I added 2% of Inawera's Shisha Raspberry to brighten it up and because I've had a few strawberry vapes recently and fancied a change - it's considerably nicer now!

It's not difficult to create a tasty fruit chocolate vape, using Flavorah's Chocolate Deutsch, or TFA/Capella Double Chocolate combined with a fruit of your choice. So I'd stick with that!

Fried Surprise - Fair Foodies

They say: A decadent funnel cake straight out of the fryer and ready for you to enjoy! Smothered in freshly picked blueberries, sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped with whipped cream.

I say: The only surprise to me, was how accurately this eliquid resembles the taste of how I imagine greasy cardboard would be like. After two not especially enjoyable tanks worth, it got modificated with some MFIC, left to steep and is now all the better for being re-worked with something actually tasty .

I say: I'm enjoying this one . . . . haven't done anything to it either!

Being picky, I don't find it especially ' custardy ' but rather more a soft and enjoyable Banana Cream - banana is one of those flavours that can easily be overpowering if you're not sparing with it, this hits the balance perfectly.

Again, it's not difficult to create something similar yourself, either by adding fruit to a favourite custard recipe or by using a concentrate already blended.

I say: There's been so much hype surrounding this particular range of eliquid that I felt compelled to give at least one of the flavours a try . . . . while it didn't send me into raptures of delight, it's a pleasant enough flavour. A bit on the bland side for my tastes, so it may yet get tweaked - probably with a couple of Strawberry concentrates if I do, Inawera's Shisha Strawberry and TPA Strawberry Ripe are two that I find work well for me.

There's a fair few clones about . . . . . interestingly I also get just a hint of coconut which isn't unpleasant from the readymade;

I'm still cackling at the 'greasy cardboard' description! suspect funnel cake will match my playdo doughnut I get on some mixes

I've some really odd flavours to start on, i just went with brands and bagged one of whatever was in 0/3/6mg strength and after purchase I looked up flavour profiles and a fair few are so out of my comfort zone... but at about £1 per 10ml its a risk worth taking, I might actually discover a love for peanut butter/jelly combo's, pumpkin pie etc. so I'll try to be optimistic


Half my issue is that I use large capacity tanks and dont want to crack open and fill from a 15ml bottle in case its rank, so its a job for drippers, that lot! Im going to set up my no pity drippers in TC and give them a good hitting over teh festive period.

I'm largely using iSubs, so they're easy enough to dry burn and re-wick Pep, or I'm just a complete tart and vape through anything a bit rank - no shame me!
