quick update I told the shop I would take them to a small claims court and they gave me shop credit to choose another unit

well guess what guys....

with the credit they gave me I bought a predator 228 which was great...

3 months down the road its broken

well it still works but the led that shows the watt and battery status has stopped working so I cant change the watts or cant see when the battery is going low.

still using it but not sure what to do next really

I have 5 predators here, 1 works properly
The others all have 510 issues and jumping ohms that I really can't be assed to strip and repair.
No screen issues though, have you tried updating the firmware?

downloaded it and connected the 228 to the computer but nothing happens.

Remove the batteries then You need to open the update exe, then connect your mod via the usb, let windows do it drivers crap then your version number should appear on the exe. From there click update and that should be it done.

thanks for that, it did update with the battery out and I turned it off and back on but still no lights

Ah well, worth a go, fixes most minor issues. Sounds like the led has blown then

Try walloping it in and out of stealth mode a few times. Think it's the power bar and the up buttton. When you hold both the up and down buttons together does it also display lock unlock? Might be worth a shot installing the artic fox firmware as a last resort. nfeteam.org/forum/threads/predator-228-locks-when-attempting-to-adjust-watts.745/ failing that a big hammer or slam it down a few times and try again
