It's all to easy to get caught up in the hype of the next great thing and splash a load of cash only to end up disappointed. I've learned by experience to wait a while and find out from real world users what is good and what is not. Reviewers can only pick up on so many issues and rarely use things over a long enough period to know if they are really worth the money.
I've had plenty of "cheap" Ego batteries die on me after a very short time and a few higher priced ones that have lasted long enough for the paint to wear off. On the mod front, I have three eleaf iSticks - a 20W (secondhand), a TC40W and a Pico. All doing very well and I think I had a good run for my money. My Evic VTwo Mini is also good, but the paint has chipped after a very short time which is annoying because it is a really nice colour.
I would be very upset if I had shelled out even the little those mods cost me and they broke after a few months. It would certainly be enough to induce a brand boycott.

I've bought ' high end ' in the past, back in the day when Provari's, Super T, GG and the like were really the only options if you wanted some decent equipment and had moved on from Ego type batteries ( China hadn't woken up at that stage to the market potential ) . . . . none ever gave me any issues whatsoever and still don't - but I paid a lot for that privilege.
Now I wouldn't spend that type of money with the selection we have available, I buy inexpensive devices and tanks, but I do still have some expectations of how long these will last - which I hope are both reasonable and realistic. So far by and large I've been fortunate - but then I don't tend to use one or two devices exclusively, so any wear and tear gets spread.
Much depends upon your personal perception of what is reasonable and realistic - plus an element of luck I'd venture!
Would I expect Vendors to offer an ' Extended Warranty ' period, I think we would see many more Vendors folding if this was the case . . . . . but I do fully appreciate the frustration and disappointment anyone feels when they have a run of failing equipment - there is the option to go to PayPal within 180 days of a payment being made, which could always be worth exploring if you are in an unhappy out of warranty situation.

thanks guys I bought 3 cheap mods and a spare tank that should keep me going for some time I based my comment on this statement GunJack yes maybe you’ve been lucky, whilst some of my cheap mods have done well many have failed quickly whereas any over £100 have never failed.

Greg I think you been lucky, when new all of my 4 mods started out around £100 and everyone of them failed within a few months, Perpetua I think your right paying via PayPal giving 180 days protection is the only option at the moment till the shops get there act together until then I will bad review everyone that only gives a month warranty, they do this cuz they know they are prone to breaking down why else would they do this? until they say to there suppliers we want 1 years warranty this will carry on, I also reported it to trading standards and they say they get a lot of this complaint don't think it will be long before something gives but us the buyers must complain more or it wont ever change.

It may help to know what sort of tank to suggest.

The USB mini charge ports WILL break, either sooner or later. Trust me, there is no way around this. (I also repaired/resoldered my Evic VTWO ports a few times, but it's pointless since they will again break at some point). What I did, I simply gave up on the ports and got me a bunch more 18650 batteries and a Nitecore i2 charger. I don't miss the ports at all. In addition, with the ports going flakey in time, there is always a risk to shorten either your PC's/notebook's USB ports (and damage them in a worst care scenario), or shorten your mod. I consider pass-thru vaping therefore not really safe. By the way, my two EVIC VTWO Minis, besides the USB port not working anymore on one is otherwise still doing their job, and they are very old!! Still the best mod, IMO.
Edit: It is also much safer and you will get longer battery life if you use a good charger, rather than USB charging.

Really? One of my oldest mods has a dodgy battery cap. It's a mare to unscrew and rescrew. Always been charged via usb. 40 months and going strong. You must be heavy handed.
The usb charging is also a bit misleading. Slower charging, through a normal usb port, can be better for battery health than fast charging which most chargers have now. Moot point though, it's marginal. Most will renew batteries long before they give up the ghost.
