I sent an email to Amazon saying I had received an erroneous parcel.
They kindly replied and said as I was such a loyal customer who had contributed millions to their Luxembourg tax dodging exploits, that I would keep the thermometer. They also gave me a GBP 5 gift card for the inconvenience.....
They said the thermometer had been sent to the wrong address in error. As I believe our transatlantic cousins say, I'm calling BS on that....
This is definitely something to do with our friends in FT land.....

Perpetua, Mandy with my leg ulcers it would be marginally less painful to use it than rubbing my bits with a cheese grater!

I also received an Amazon package I didn't order! It was a dog grooming mit.... Amazon tracked it and said someone created an account using my name and address (different email) and also paid for it using a gift certificate. Very odd. Their customer service is awful, I had to speak to 15 different people and they kept sending me automated responses without reading the notes on the system. In the end, they said my details must have been accessed through a 'phishing' scam but I'm not convinced!

Well, this is very peculiar, don't you think!? I'm a sporadic user of FT, Amazon, GearBest etc., but so far nothing odd or unordered has appeared on my stoop, so i can but wait. On the 'plus' side, I guess that this means no new account has been created for me using my personal details or that I've been successfully 'phished' (I am very careful about clicking dodgy stuff), so I presume that I am so far very lucky. I will follow this with interest as I am fascinated with the goods you folk are receiving!

Trying to figure out what the scam is, how are these people making money from buying random crap with gift vouchers and sending it to other people?

So everyone that's had the mystery parcel turn up. Do you already have an amazon account or are they picking on Amazon virgins? Ie, you have an account in another family members name footnote I'm easily bribed and have plenty of experience in taking parcels in at the front door

I did question how someone is able to make a duplicate account with the same name and address, surely it should flag up on their system! There was no sign of anything dodgy on my own account and my bank account wasn't accessed.
