"Let workers vape in office, Government plan suggests": News article in the Telegraph HERE
There's also a poll " Do you care if people vape in non-smoking areas?"

But there's always that one person that will start coughing like you're blowing out toxic fumes and make a fuss. I really can't see this happening unless everyone in the office vapes, businesses will just not risk being sued.

It is the "Cloud Chasers" that spoil Vaping for everyone else.
One of our Local Pubs has put a notice on their front door stating that "Smokeless Vaper's ONLY" allowed on their premise's. Quite right too!!!!
During a recent stay in hospital, once the nurses found out that I gave off very little vapour, I was allowed to Vape in the ward, as long as I was discreet about it.
Personally I vape for my satisfaction and not to stick two fingers up at anyone else.

64%.
I approve.
Not keen on mega-clouds though. Can't we draw the line at 19.9 watts?

And they will, I take a main line train + a tube train to work everyday, you can vape on the mainline platform in the open air if you are discrete or hide behind the smokers. But I regularly smell people vaping on the down escalator entering the tube network no more than 120 seconds after they were in the open air!

Never going to happen, especially in the public sector in which I work. Can see it in a private company where the manager/CEO is conducive but can you imagine the Health and Safety issues? I tripped over the chair owing to the clouds, I couldn't see where I was going! I'm allergic to rhubarb and he was blowing it everywhere! He left his mod on charge and it suddenly blew up! His tank started leaking all over me! If they can vape surely I can chew tobacco ! Shisha pipes must be accepted also! It's an herbal cigarette !..........

I was recently ejected from a (Green King brewery) pub for vaping. In public, I only stealth vape - creating virtually no vapour, but it was the fact that I was seen to be using a vaping device that was enough to be asked to go outside with the stinkies, or leave. I left - and vowed never to set foot inside a Green King pub again (no great loss, their beer is c..p anyway!).
It amazes me that a member of an industry that is founded on selling products that have known health issues (wine, beer, spirits etc) should adopt such a policy for something that is perfectly legal and has no reported health issues. Before the smoking ban, how many bars/pubs had a no-smoking policy - none that I can think of.
I have also read that since the ban in 2007, nearly 40% of pubs in UK have closed (15 in my area). I also read that over this time the availability of alcohol in the form of affordable good-quality wine and craft beers in supermarkets has risen by over 500%. Is all this an indication that breweries are ditching the hospitality side of their business, in favour of mass distribution of alcohol to the large retail outlets?
When I read in the Telegraph about the government's positive (changed) attitude towards vaping, I smelled a rat. The treasury must be smarting from the decreasing revenue from tobacco so, is it possible they are attempting to stimulate the vaping market so that at some time in the not to distant future it will be worth imposing duty on nicotine products? (Notice I refer to Nicotine, not Tobacco products - a lot of our vaping nicotine is not derived from tobacco.)

Is all this an indication that breweries are ditching the hospitality side of their business, in favour of mass distribution of alcohol to the large retail outlets? Yes. They can try, they probably will. But remember, the majority of tax on tobacco is sin tax and compensation tax (profit, actually, in truth) for the health service. Something will happen above the normal VAT at some point, but if they made it too punitive, there would be a lot of opposition. It's odd (and not that connected) but people who think smokers should pay extra for health care are so far off the planet. Smokers make more money for the government than the government pays out in NHS costs, and of course they save billions through premature death and not paying the state pension. Whatever happens, it'll be a tough balancing act. Even (say) a 50% tax on a bottle of e-liquid (believed to be the equivalent of many packs of cigarettes by the ill-informed) would require special legislation and there are enough MPs now pro-vaping to fight the vapers corner. The problem wasn't UK MPs, it was always Euro MPs.

I've vaped in the office since I started, so about five years. At the time I sat behind the MD. When he saw my little cloud he did ask what the **** I was doing (his words). Once I explained he was 100% supportive.
I have had a few people do the coughing thing. I just told them to **** off (MD's word so must be acceptable in the office.)
