OK my mixer friends please help a newbie out with some sound advice
1) Nicotine I have 500ml of 7.2% it has been frozen before, can it safely be frozen again? I do have access to smaller sealable containers, what's the best quantity to freeze it in? Should I freeze it or leave it in a cold dark cupboard? 2) Steeping How long do you need to let the juice steep for? Does it need shaking or anything else while steeping? Do you leave the lid on or off? I have trawled the net for the answers but the is a lot of conflicting answers, so I have taken on board the good advice from Perpetua and popped a thread in hear. Also please accept my apologies in advance as I will have more questions as time goes on Cheers Dave

Shaking at the start is a good idea - lid on obviously

1) Nicotine I have 500ml of 7.2% it has been frozen before, can it safely be frozen again? Yes it can be "frozen" again, but if you are using from the freezer, allow the bottle to come up to room temperature before opening it.I do have access to smaller sealable containers, what's the best quantity to freeze it in? "Containers"? Glass bottles are best. IMO 100ml would be a good size, if you are likely to use that quantity in say a <6 month period
Should I freeze it or leave it in a cold dark cupboard? Keep a small bottle, that's in use, out in a cool dark cupboard or the fridge. Keep the rest in longer term storage in the freezer.
2) Steeping How long do you need to let the juice steep for? That very much depends on the type of concentrate/flavour..... fruits/menthols are a couple of days usually, custards, dessert and tobaccos take much longer.
Does it need shaking or anything else while steeping? If you remember!Do you leave the lid on or off? Mixed opinion and personal preference

There are lots of sites with guides, for instance www.flavourart.co.uk/eliquid-mixing-guide.html www.nicvape.com/How-To-Make-e-JuiceKeep in mind that each person may taste something different to another, and those links are just what they say guides but it should at least allow you to get some idea and the advice on making small amounts to begin with is a good practice especially when just starting out.

Patience is most certainly an important factor in DIY Dave . . . . especially as your tastes are for dessert/custard type flavours, mix and forget! You're likely to have more successful, enjoyable creations if you do.

With steeping I'd give anything you make a couple of really good shakes (so you can see lots of bubbles in it) then leave it at least a couple of days (preferably a week) - and anything with creamy/custardy notes for at least 3 weeks, or even 4-6 weeks if you can stand it. I know it's controversial, but I think all these warm bath/ sonic cleaner/daily shaking/electronic mixer rituals are no substitute for time - shove it in a dark draw and forget about it a while. I personally have not found that leaving the lid off makes any difference, but some swear by it. Have fun with your mixing!
