What is the ratio of diluting VG using de-ionised water , when I don't know the strength of the PG?

If I'm mixing VG into a PG base . . . I don't bother diluting it Phoenix . . . although it's a personal preference, as some do . . . 10-15% water/vodka to your VG maybe.
The strength of your PG base makes no difference.

I looked on another forum , said to reduce VG by 50% , so I have done that with De-ionised water ( seems a waste of vodka to use that) lol
I thought I had read somewhere that to get the correct ratio you needed to know what the % was of PG.
Oh well, it's done now, what a faff it was the VG was sooo gloopy found it easier to add the water to the VG in a large bottle then transfer it to useable sized bottles I bought.
Thanks for your input perp.

Goodness . . . that's rather a big dilution Phoenix, it must be very runny your VG now! I hope it's going to be useable? The nicotine content of your PG base, won't make a difference to how much you dilute plain VG, as I say . . . I don't bother as PG is quite liquid anyway.

Perhaps you are right perp, not tried it yet, but if it won't vape that won't be a problem as I will just add more VG until I get the viscosity right. Have got some PG and other stuff coming( today prob)so will commence the mixing experiment. lol

I think you might have to Phoenix, else you could end up with a rather sloopy mix on your hands.
Happy Mixing!

PERP, I have added 200 ml of VG to the mix will that be useable now?

I think you need to go right back to the beginning Phoenix and start afresh, as you're confusing yourself here with trying to mix without actually having any plain nicotine base if I understand what you've purchased so far correctly?
Although I've just caught up with your other thread and now see that you have some on the way.
Mixing isn't difficult, but you must have a clear idea in your head of what you need to have and to be doing, to achieve your final mix and I'm a mite concerned that you don't right now.

Agrees with Perpy. please Phoenix & everyone else, it might be an idea to stick with ready mixed juice if you are unsure what to do

I am not giving up, I have a load of flavourings, just waiting for my nicotine, have bought new bottle of VG and i have a bottle of PG, so I am ready to go , and people on here are going to help me with the mixing quantities, so no problem. Don't worry Chrissie, I promise not to poison myself. #icon_veryhappy#

Phoenix, you're confusing me I have a simples mixing plan. 36mg nicotine, pure pg base, mixed with the same amount of VG will give me 18mg unflavoured liquid 50/50 pg/vg, add flavouring then it should be around 16mg, simples, no math required

That's pretty much what I do as well Karma, other than tweaking the PG/VG ratio . . . works a treat every time as well.

That's good Karma, but only if you want 16mg. I use 24, so have to play a bit, but I love my mixes. Phoenix, you are worrying me as well. I think you need to step back, check again what you have and understands what you have before going any further.
BTW 50% dilution for VG is too much, 20-25% max seems to work best.
