Hi,
husband and I gave up smoking 7 years ago and vaped for 1 year. Tempted back to cigs on a couple of occasions so decided to go back to vaping. I bought us both a Halo Tank Kit 02 that came with 1.0 ohm MTL coil, using .3mg and zero juices, all good. But I have noticed hubby tends to take a double drag every time, he feels one is not a good enough hit, not nicotine hit, just the overall drag feeling if that makes sense. I would like to get him something that gives him that hit, maybe more vape? Would prefer a kit. All advise gratefully received. Thanks

Hi and floramac A couple of general things. E-liquid mainly comprises of a mix of PG and VG, with many eliquids these days being quite high in VG/vegetable glycerin (which is smoother than PG/propylene glycol); a higher amount of PG (or nicotine) creates a stronger throat hit. Also note that in general people take longer, slower drags on an e-cig than a cigarette. A variable power device would also allow you husband to tweak the power delivered to the atomiser to suit him, maybe better than the fixed output that I think that the Halo Tank 02 has. I'll leave it up to others to suggest something, as I don't follow closely what kit that there is these days.

A lot of vapers starting out are finding this. Years ago when we started the nic was up at 24mg and certainly gave a throat hit. These days a lot if not the majority of vapers lung hit, hence the greatly reduced nic available in juices. IMO he has a couple of choices: 1) Increase the mg in the juice. 2) Get a device that enables lung hitting and learn to do that. His ability to do it immediately or will have to learn will depend on whether he smoked naughty stuff through a *cough* bong in his youth. Something else to consider is the fact that vaping is a lot slower way of delivering nicotine to the nicotinic receptors than smoking. When i started vaping there were some very harsh lessons learnt quickly when i vaped too much at 24mg. These days with the lower mg juices it doesn't happen. kids eh? They don't know they're born

www.fasttech.com/products/3024/10014058/9505504is worth a look as it has a v large built in battery so no extra expense of purchasing batts and charger and made by a reputable maker www.fasttech.com/products/3024/10015785/8210800-authentic-aspire-speeder-200w-vv-vw-tc-apv-boxis also worh a look as it has a map coad (makes it a bit cheaper) i have the mod but not the tank ,it has the right sort of built in charge for 2 batts so you can charge them in the mod but still need to buy batts for it(extra tenner) the mod its self is built like a tank and still looks new, which for me is ruddy amazing its very good at temperature control if he ever wants to try it the links above are to a chinese web sight and most of us do/have used it ,you just gota wait for it to come lol the 2 kits should let him know if lung hitting floats his boat and dont cost the earth the main thing about batts is they only last so long and when they built in to the mod the mod norm dies as well lung hitting is basically breathing in throw the tank hope that helps

I have lots of different set ups now but for mtl I always go back to my old faithful which is an eleaf istick 20w with aspire K1 1.8ohm BVC and a higher pg/vg content. Dont get me wrong, in the beginning nothing really matched a real cigarette but with perseverance after a few weeks it was perfect for me, but it's subjective of course. Good luck and a warm welcome

I found it was "throat hit" I missed most when I started Vaping. Higher PG and slightly stronger Nic did it for me, but I've cut down my PG in the last year or so, as I've turned to enjoying an airier Vape, with less Nic. I do still have a couple of "Throat hit" juices if I fancy that, in a nice RDA.
