Realised I have fallen into what is probably a nerdy routine around sampling new flavours, which I'm sure is not for everyone but I am really enjoying. It has developed over about a year. I had some 5ml bottles lying around (they actually hold around 6.5ml) so I started to make up 5 ml testers at first, then 6ml. I keep 250ml of ready made PG/VG/NIC with 7% of flavour missing for mixing samplers, so all I have to do is weigh in the required amount of flavour, then fill it up to the total weight with the pre-made. I just rinse out the bottles so no washing up required. I put a little temp label on cap so I can remember what is what. My everyday take to work setup (an Ubertoot clone on a Pico) holds 5 ml - so I fill it up each day with a new flavour - 5ml lasts me almost exactly until I come home, the remaining 1 ml goes in a dripper for second thoughts tasting. In the rare event I don't have any new flavours I often re-sample old ones. This means I get to live with each flavour a little and really get to know it, which for me is good - I also really look forward to each vape break! Only on rare occasions have I ended up with an ADV that I dislike enough not to want any more - in which case I keep a full Pico squeeze as a backup in my bag, so I use that instead. Be fascinated to hear what other people do (if anything!) around sampling new flavours.

Well I used to religiously make up 10ml bottles of everything beedee . . . . that fell by the wayside some time ago as I just don't seem to have the time, or inclination to be bothered. So my ' testing ' takes place in a mix now - but as I seldom make more than 30ml of anything, it's not a huge volume to tweak if the first pass isn't quite to my liking.

As above really mixing has sort of fallen off lately i tend to use one shot flavours nowadays so tend to mix 30ml testers as such

I used to be exactly the same mix samples up in 5 or 10 ml bottles but not anymore, oneshots have taken the skill out of mixing though, there's nothing wrong with it each to there own and it's made it easier for people. I used to enjoy the mixing part more than the actual vaping it was just a challenge to make something decent. I probably make one or two recipes a day but not as creative as I was,I think you get mixers block and everythings the same. There's only so many custard/strawberry recipes you make before they all taste the same.

I am a lazy, one shot, bulk mixer - probably a bad combination all round, but on the whole....it seems to work for me Have I wasted valuable nic sometimes? Yes. Have I made big bottles of stuff I really don't like much? Yes. I always make 100ml (I only buy 100ml bottles...) - I always have that strange "what if I really like this one and I'd have to wait another month for a bigger lot to steep" if I made small samples. As I result, I probably have about 3 litres of juice made up at the moment....most of it is NET so I tell myself it will only get better with age I have huge admiration and respect for the many single flavour mixers - I found it too frustrating for me and I ended up with a load of concentrates I would probably never use again with 0.336ml taken from a bottle - very happy with one-shots now

Lick test for all of mine and I can now pretty much gauge accurately what it will vape like, whether I will like it and how much to use, I only ever make big batches of custards, everything else is in a 10ml bottle anyway as I tire of flavours after that until the next time round so not a lot gets wasted now and I don't try to rescue them if I don't like them, I just sink them. Used to try and tweak them or save them up in a dump bottle but lifes too short so they get dumped.
I still buy and have far too many concentrates that will never get used, I have my holy grail Strawberry/Raspberry/Cappuccino and Custard concentrates so now try and stop myself buying any more of those particular strains but I have to admit that the VTA line is definitely calling me - LOL!

I'm a bit like ghostrider1971 I mix up 50ml - 100ml at a time my feeling is that if the steeped flavour doesn't turn out nice or how I wanted it then I just bung some other concentrate in on top and to heck with the ratios until I get something vapeable out of it case in point is 100ml of super steeped bananas foster which I made up 12 months ago and never got round to trying until Friday it looked fantastic a lovely dark caramel colour, smelled nice, and tasted fecking awful I am now pondering whether to add some extra banana or custard it up a bit - may even end up doing both but one things for sure it won't go to waste lol
