CCW Bucks Fizz: Has oil in it and could be a health risk

Just finished a tester of Cupcake World Bucks Fizz - wow, a really unexpected treat.

Then found out it has oil in it (see thread below)

Shame - because this is a really accurate flavour, a nice orange with a boozy, fizzy kick.

Embarrasing because elsewhere, I and lots of others have been suggesting people check the CCW list before using them and I didn't!

I hate to rain on your happy parade beedee . . . . but just a word of caution, it's a CCW concentrate that does contain oil.

As in all things, it's a personal decision of course.

Not at all, Perpetua, appreciate the heads up. but, 

This is the first time I've bought CCW without consulting this list - ah well, only 1.19 wasted. Should we take this thread down so as not to mislead the unwary?

I wouldn't take it down as the last 2 posts are an important reminder of this issue and therefore very useful to any noobies.

Thank you for making the offer beedee and not taking offence at my pointing the oil issue out . . . . I'm inclined to agree with sydsut in all honesty.

Better to leave the information than remove it, even the best of us can get caught out, if that's ok with you?

Perpetua - I ended up changing the review - did not feel ok to have something so positive with a health risk attached to it it!

I also did a bit of research on oils in vaping liquid. Apparently the risk is that oil can coat the lungs and lead to something called lipid pneumonia (inflammation of the lungs) - it was first named in 1925, in infants who had inhaled oil droplets (don't ask me how this came about - people using spray baby oil maybe?).

Obviously, pneumonia is potentially life threatening, especially in the elderly and young.

There is anecdotal evidence that vapers have contracted it by using cheap juice with lots of vegetable oil in it, of course, China was mentioned as the source.

Some say that using the odd juice with small amounts of oil in it is fine as the amounts are too small to cause any damage - but, as with everything in vaping, there is no research and not enough cases to draw any conclusions from.

Overall though, it's risk I would not be happy with taking, so thanks again for the heads up, Perpetua.

A long time ago, when I was in early primary school (50+ years ago), parents were often recommended to obtain an Eucalyptus lamp - basically a small flame under a heating reservoir of fluid containing a mix of Eucalyptus oil. It was set in the bedroom of children who suffered respiratory infections. The Eucalyptus fumes helped relieve the airways.

I remember my parents were attempting to replenish fluids from the local chemist/drug store and being told that the items were no longer recomended or available - apparently withdrawn from sale. I'm betting Lipid Pneumonia is the reason why.

I do recall they helped ease breathing when affected by colds and flu.
