I've been vaping for nearly 4 years and for the last year I have not been able to taste any juice at all, it's so bloody frustrating, I feel like smoking cigs again just to taste the tobacco again, has anyone had the same experience and discovered a solution? I'm desperate to be able to taste something, I taste food and drink no bother so what do I do? Any help and advice would be much appreciated I have various vapers but none of them give me any taste, on rare occasions after one vape on a new juice I can just detect a taste then after that the usual nothing. Is there any where in the world where someone has found a solution, I'll try any bloody thing. Thanks , Jamesrd.

Same problem here - usually I only taste a flavour when it is new.
30 years on the fags has knackred my taste buds good and proper.
The one thing I can guarantee to taste is anything with DV mentholyptus.
Otherwise, find best results just after brushing my teeth or eating an apple.
Never tried going back on the stinikies to try and improve the taste of my juice though - I'm guessing it didn't work.
Off the shelf juice is always too weakly flavoured for me so I got into homebrewing where I can add the amount of flavourant I need to evoke a semblance of taste.

jamesrd - You may have the dreaded Vapers Tongue and a strong mint or menthol is usually a good start to get rid of it. As domesticextremist says - off the shelf juice is sometimes pretty weak and lots of it is just bland. What kind of juice/flavours are you vaping and do you mix it up a lot or stick to one particular flavour.

jamesrd . . . . I constantly flit from flavour to flavour, generally I'll have a bare minimum of 6 on the go, so my taste buds don't get too tuned in to any specific one in particular. I also mix my own eliquid at a higher ratio than the suggested percentages - which might not be to everyone's tastes, but it works for me. Do you mix or buy pre-made eliquid?

jamesrd I was to ask the same question as Perps ^ because often the shop bought eliquid can be lacking in flavour.

thanks for your replies, I do use different flavours and I mainly buy ready made juices, never tried mixing my own, is it easy to do, your suggestion of trying menthol might help even though I hate both smell and taste, I do suffer with nose infections and am going to try something to clear my nose from infections as I read it can interfere with taste, I'll try any bloody thing, thanks lads, Jamesrd

I wouldn't survive just on readymade eliquid as a percentage ( not all ) are just too light on flavour for my tastes. Mixing your own isn't difficult especially with the huge array of ' one shot ' concentrates we have available now, although like anything it's an advantage to understand the basic principles. I'd suggest having a potter around the Mixology Board and reading some of the pinned threads to help give you a better understanding: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/board/18/mixology-generalPlease don't hesitate to start your own thread there if you would like more guidance. Out of interest, what strength eliquid do you use . . . . and your flavours of choice?

I would go with Perpetua and beeper this, jamesrd , on the rare occasion I try a readymade nowadays I find them low on taste. I also find that having several flavours on the go helps, when I used to vape single flavours for days on end they would often go dead on me, now at home I usually have between 2 and 4 different vapes on the go at the same time and I use a different flavour every day for carry around. I find mixing easy, fun and fascinating - though like anything it takes a bit of practice to get into the swing of it, there's also a lot of help and advice available in the mixology threads if you try it. Good luck with finding a solution to this without being tempted back to the cancer sticks!

I was also thinking jamesrd, that depending on your flavour profiles of choice, if I've any concentrates that fit the bill then I'll happily make you something up . . . . just so you can get a better appreciation of what some tasty home brew can be like.
