Just wanted to say hi!
So I’ve decided to start vaping again. I actually managed to quit smoking for a year using an ecig, a few years back but unfortunately ended up smoking again!
Everything has changed since I was last on my ecig, there’s now so much choice! I honestly don’t have a clue where to start now as some of the online stores I used to us don’t exist anymore!
The tpd stuff is all new to me as well, it didn’t exist when I was last vaping. I used to make my own juices etc, I’m assuming this isn’t possible now?
Ive just bought a new kit (Smok mag kit), so I’m hoping it is decent!
Essentially, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Welcome back.
As far as TPD concerned there's really only 2 things that affect us consumers.
1: There is a capacity limit on tanks, UK retailers can only sell tanks up to a capacity of 2ml of juice.
2: There is a maximum amount legally allowed for UK retailers of nicotine strength in liquid of 20mg, this includes liquid nicotine and it can only be sold in 10ml bottles.
Important to note these are limits placed on retailers, on UK sales, it governs what UK stores can sell in the UK not what UK citizens can buy.
You can still buy non TPD compliant goods from outside the UK and import them.
A lot of UK juice suppliers are getting around the 10ml bottle restriction by selling what they call shortfills.
Essentially what they sell you is a large bottle with a pre-measured amount of flavour concentrate in it and nothing else so you can then just top that bottle up yourself with PG/VG and add however many 10ml bottles of nicotine you require to achieve the desired strength you want.

Chrissie Perpetuaas said things certainly have changed but your safe with diy as concentrates are still readily available but the only thing changed is 7.2% nicotine can now only be sold to trade so 18mg nic shots are what a lot use now once their stash of pre tpd nic has been used. quite a few suppliers have closed down but there are hundreds more opened selling the loop hole shortfills in zero nic. |
